Easter hike
Apr 2021 • Family
Simply amazing- must see and do! Takes approximately 2 hours and traverses +200 Meter altitude- but views are exquisite and the hike is easy on a nicely maintained mountain path. Parking available at start of hike and easy to find.

Great Hiking
Oct 2019 • Couples
The gorge is spectacular. Hiking this in the autumn is our favorite time. As the leaves change and the air is refreshing, the hike through the gorge is spectacular. Pack a lunch and enjoy yourself at the dam taking in the amazing views.

Really beautiful!
Aug 2019
Nice walk, stunning views on rocks and water. Well fortified path, a bit steep in the very end but perfectly possible for children from 5 - our son had a lot of fun. Could be slippery when wet... We had a great time.

Stunning a must see

This gorge is beautiful from beginning to end. The walkways are well looked after... the views change throughout and you have to go all the way to the top and see the dam and lake.

Beautiful and perfect for our family with children aged 6-13
Aug 2018 • Family
We just spent an idyllic few hours at this picturesque site with an impressive dam at the end. Really worth visiting on a sunny day with stunning photos. Fun for us all - we were in awe of the elder locals climbing the 250 or so steps at the end without too much difficulty!

Stunning Scenery!
Jul 2018 • Family
We accessed the gorge from the town of Chatel sur Montsalvens and thoroughly enjoyed our walk. Some parts are quite steep and may be wet and slippery so watch your step. If you are careful it's not a problem.

Do not go to route du Pessot 29!
Jun 2018 • Couples
route du Pessot 29 is someone's private residence! They've put a sign up on their drive to say 'private'. The start of the walk is from the car park slightly further down the road.

What a hidden treasure! Absolutely stunning walk through the gorge with a surprise at the turnaround point, although you could continue further if you wanted an even longer walk. Just over 6k to the end of the footpath and back, along uneven paths and steps, footbridges and tunnels. Easy walk with suitable footwear but not for anyone unsteady on their feet.

Don't forget your camera!

The best experience in Gruyere region
Aug 2017 • Family
What a wonderful walk we had down the Gorges. Just after visiting the chocolate factory this made for an active 3 hours as we walked the length of the gorge. In the summer it is cool and there are some stunning cliffs to imagine climbing ( you can even see the climbing bolts on some of the rock faces)

At the end of the leg out you should climb up from the hydroelectric dam to Chez Boudji for the best macaroni in the region.

This walk is the sort of walk you can enjoy in every season to see how the scenery changes. No 1 recommendation in the region.

Beautiful easy hike
Jul 2017 • Family
Walked this of an afternoon with my teenage daughter- very easy hike - we started at Charmey where we followed the green hiking signs.
Beautiful scenes of the green blue lake as you walk along the sides and cross suspension bridges. Most of the hike is through forest so nice and cool even in the summer.
Some people were fishing in the lake but not sure if swimming allowed.

After Broc we wanted to continue to Gruyere Castle but the trail signs became less clear so we aborted outside Broc and took a bus back.
