About
At the Ionian island (Lefkada) is a very touristic village called Nydri. At the middle of this village is a road for a very beautiful canyon with a waterfall at the end of 350m walking distance from parking.Easy access with a very relaxing canteen at the beginning of the trail.

Beautiful waterfall freezing pool!
Oct 2020 • Family
It’s well worth the walk up to the Nydri waterfall. The walk from the parking area takes about 15/20 minutes. The path has been washed away in places but is still easy to follow, though some of the steps are quite steep so need to take care not to lose footing and slip in places.

Thanks to the recent rainfall there was plenty of water both in the falls themselves and the pool below. We swam in the pool and it was FREEZING! The sun hits the water mid to late morning so that’s the time to go.

Defiately worth a visit.

The hiking from the road to the waterfalls is between 15-20 minutes. The trail is graphic with meny trees and photoworth places. The waterfalls are not as full with water as in most pictures, still you can go into the water and relax on the white rocks. It is a place woth visiting and spending a morning before hitting the beach.

Lovely walk of about 15 minutes - not difficult but would be no good with a push chair or wheel chair.

After the rain
Sep 2020 • Couples
We have visited the waterfall in the height of summer before and found only a trickle. After a September storm and torrential rain we decided to go again. The path was under water in places so we could have chosen more practical footwear but the short walk was worth it to see the waterfall which was impressive.

Worth the walk
Sep 2020
The falls aren’t the most dramatic of features but definitely worth the walk and if you’re feeling brave, the swim. And the cafe is 100% worth having a drink and an ice cream at on the way back. Very nice.

Beautiful waterfalls
Sep 2020
The waterfalls were beautiful and unspoilt. It took about 15 minutes to walk to the waterfalls which were very pretty. I would recommend going fairly early. We were there at about 10:30am and it started to get busier when we were walking back.

Lovely scenic walk and views

A must see trip if you’re ever on Nidri. It was just a shame there was very little water when we visited.

Nothing much, but worth the hike
Aug 2020
Unfortunately, the waterfalls were dry...nothing more than a trickle, with a little pool of water at the top...refreshing. However, the hike was well worth it...it was a bit rough, but cool and enjoyable. Wear good shows for hiking. The greenery protected you from the sun. The cafe at the end was equally lovely, among the trees.

A hike between the rocks to a dreamscape
Aug 2020
We arrived at the Nydri Waterfalls in the morning, before too many people started coming and before the heat struck: this made our trip a very peaceful and comfortable one. The walk is not difficult and anyway the view of the rocks and the valley of the (river dry wadi in August) is so catching it kept our eyes and minds occupied. The end of the path at of the waterfall is a landscape from a dream, with vertical rock walls, passages opening in stone and streams of water (even in the draught). It was a trip that gave extra meaning and beauty to our stay in Lefkada: the holiday would be incomplete without it.
