About
Just a stone’s throw away from the charming Nydri Village is the beautiful Nydri Waterfalls. It's a two-hour hike to the falls, but you'll pass by lush pine tree forests and mountains before arriving at your destination where you'll find vibrant blue waters, underground pools, and rugged canyons. Grab a cold drink at the cafe by the entrance before taking a refreshing dip in the waterfall's natural swimming pool. Try to visit after rainfall when the waterfalls are the most impressive. Want to explore more of Lefkada? Consider a tour that includes other relaxing sights like Porto Katsiki and Gialos Beach. – Tripadvisor

    Nydri falls after a storm
A beautiful experience we did by ourselves. We were told the falls were dry but the day before we had a big storm. So we walked from nydri to the falls. They were beautiful. We obviously didn't swim as the water was muddy from the storm and the weather still wasn't great. We stopped off at the cafe and sat inside as the weather was bad but they were so friendly and accommodating, the food was good. It looked like if it was a nice day, sitting outside would've been a lovely view. Would recommend a visit if the falls are flowing

    Spectacular after rainfall (otherwise OK)
A pleasant walk to the wonderful cafe on a hot day. The waterfalls themselves are spectacular after heavy rain - otherwise somewhat disappointing. Choose to visit after rain and you will not be disappointed!n The walk beyond the cafe is unsuitable for people with limited mobility.

    Lovely green place. Very relaxing.
Cool and refreshing. Great but wobbly walk up the waterfall. Took about 20 minutes and was worth the view. Not good if you aren’t particularly mobile or if you’re unsteady on your feet. Stay for a drink at the wonderful Platanos cafe bar.

    Only ok.
So many mixed opinions on whether this was an easy walk or a difficult one. Well I am due a knee replacement and couldn’t manage the last bit to the top Very steep slippery steps. My family managed it carrying toddlers but I stayed at the bottom with the baby. Think they enjoyed it. Not very spectacular. Nice cafe for drink and ice cream after.

Wait til there's been a bit more rain..
Have visited the waterfalls 4 times now, twice in the last month. Swam in April but there really isn't enough water right now. I can recommend it when there's been rain, it's a great walk up, quite magical. Just now a bit underwhelming.. but a good walk anyhow!

    The dry Nidri waterfall
According to Google Map, it takes 5.4 km to get from the parking lot to the waterfall through a steep and dangerous road, and in fact it takes exactly 5 minutes to walk to the waterfall. To get to the waterfall, walk in the direction of the "no entry" sign. We visited the waterfall on 6/17 and there was no water at all.

Must see - but turn off the music
The waterfall is very nice Even though there were hardly eny water. Only dirty water and some frogs. But it is a beautiful place, calm and nature at its Best. Only problem is the bar there: playing extremely loud music (Red Hot chiliepebbers Califonication). I found that very out of place. Leave nature be the only sound there.

Lovely little place. We walked there, relatively early on a Sunday morning, from Nidri center. It's about 3.5k each way at a guess, but easy going on quiet roads. Just by the start of the waterfall area there is a Taverna (very well priced, considering it's the only one) and there is a small car parking area there. So, if you go early, you may be lucky and get parked. The walk through the woods is a fairly easy one, but not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone who needs 2 sticks. It's about 1k from the Taverna on a narrow rocky path, with some hand rails (normal Greek health and safety) but I think it would get quite crowded later in the season. For those who like flowers, definitely go early in the season, all the fields around were a riot of colour, with bees everywhere

This waterfall is just of the main road. It is a lovely walk through the gorge in the mountains opening up to the waterfall. On the marketing material the water is gushing over the top, but as we went in August it was more of a dribble. But with limited rainfall, that was only to be expected. A pleasant walk from the car park to the falls on a well trodden path, that could do with some maintenance, not suitable for those which mobility issues. The road getting to the car park was narrow and very windy, but with patience it is possible to get there. Just watch your wing mirrors, people were parking on the edge of the road making it very narrow to get through. At the start of the walk to the falls there is a cafe area, we didn’t go in so can’t comment on it. It was quite busy, and not much social distancing going on when we were there, so do be careful. But a fun morning exploring.

A very hard climb if like us we were the oldies (grandparents) but still tough for youngsters because it was soo... hot! The last time we went up to the waterfalls was a good few years ago and we mountain biked up with an early start( 7 a.m.)

Knowing it was going to be a long hike this time with granddaughters 7 12 13 & 15 and our daughter we taxied to a the restaurant Kato Rahoula Nouvell about half way up. Cheating! We had a fabulous lunch recommend the grilled sea bream; prawns in ouzo and rice/salad; prawns & Spagetti Crasar salad (the children did not enjoy the Greek sausages being nothing like our British sausages. However when in Greece......

Shortly afterwards we started our hike up to the waterfalls. Taking it easy avoiding the occasional passing car on the 'wrong' side of the road we trundled up taking in the scenery of lemon & lime trees; goats & chickens trying to find some shade.

Once we were nearly there we stopped for freezing bottles of water at another little restaurant. The rest of the way to the falls become more and more tricky with steep stairs and hand rails passing a pool of water on the way. Eventually encouraged to continue on this upward climb to see the 'real deal' we were rewarded. Much care was required to get into the water stepping over small slippery boulders and rocks to a deliciously cold swim in deep water with water running down the cliffside. We were lucky to see it as we were warned there may not be any water!

We had an awful experience here yesterday. The place was packed with visitors all clambering up the uneven , rugged pathways and really slippery steps . One person fell and my partner was hit badly on the shoulder by a falling rock . Parts of the steps and pathways don't have handrails at all and there are sheer drops onto the rocks below . The waterfall itself was more of a trickle and there was a huge black pipe leading up to the fall , it was an eyesore and didn't look natural at all . This attraction needs to be made safer and have less people visiting at any one time . The cafe bar there was lovely , built around a huge tree and the staff were attentive and hardworking . We only had a drink so can't comment on the food there. The downside to the cafe , which was packed with probably over 100 people , there was only one toilet between men and ladies ...a place that serves drinks in the middle of nowhere having one loo for everyone is a joke ...please provide more toilets . I would not recommend this experience to anyone as it is unsafe and underwhelming .

***WARNING*** Cafe at waterfall promotes use of cannabis and sell its products. People at cafe openly using the drugs. We had to rapidly leave our drinks and leave the cafe with our children. We will NOT be back and please beware if bringing your children to see the waterfall.

Not impressed and rather disappointing. Some reviews have said spectacular but I guess that depends how many waterfalls you have seen. If your time on holiday is limited this wouldn't be a "Must do". I would also go early as we went in the afternoon and it was rammed. At the bottom where you park is a cafe in a tranquil spot but you wouldn't think so as music was blaring out. I would recommend good footwear, I wore trainers and it was fine but many had flip flops on which I wouldn't recommend. It's a bit of a trek, slippy in places, and is pretty but as others have said the large black water pipe does spoil the illusion. At the time of our visit quite a lot of young girls wearing tiny bikinis hugging trees and posing for photos by much older men so be aware if taking young children.

The Dimosari Waterfall near Nydri on Lefkada island is a great half day activity. There is an average size car park at the beginning of the trail, and a few steps on, you'll find a restaurant with quite a few choices on their menu. Access to the waterfall is free, and the walk up is not difficult. But there are some steps to climb, and some places where you encounter some slippery rocky areas. All part of the adventure. We went in August, the hottest time of year, and there was still water flowing, allbeit just a little bit, and a small pool at the base to swim in. We've left a video review on Youtube also under the same username. Enjoy!

This one is quite an uphill hike to get to the source. I have little doubt it is spectacular in Spring and early summer with a cascade flowing down the gorge. In September it is, as one might expect, a trickle so consider if the exercise is worthwhile.

We stopped here on our return from visiting Porto Katsiki Beach taking the fast east coast road, thankful for one of the petrol stations. Google Maps took us right to the Falls Parking, where we then walked about ½ mile, first up the paved road to the cafe then a nice inclining trail to the falls. A repaired washout hinders the final access but necessary to see the falls and pool.
We felt lucky that it was not raining, but happy that it had rained overnight which put some water in the falls.

Wonderful natural place to visit. Would recommend going early in the day as it gets busy and wear trainers. If you get a cab, it can only take you as far as the cafe, then it's a walk on a rough path and rocks to get to the waterfalls themselves.
