About
Just a stone’s throw away from the charming Nydri Village is the beautiful Nydri Waterfalls. It's a two-hour hike to the falls, but you'll pass by lush pine tree forests and mountains before arriving at your destination where you'll find vibrant blue waters, underground pools, and rugged canyons.
Grab a cold drink at the cafe by the entrance before taking a refreshing dip in the waterfall's natural swimming pool. Try to visit after rainfall when the waterfalls are the most impressive. Nice walk up from Nidri. Falls must be fantastic with rainfall - not sure it is correct to fill it with a water pipe just to create an effect. (Check out pumping station next to cafe!!!)

A beautifil easy walk in a good path with the sound of the running water acompanying you. A spray of cool water from time to time and when you ger to the fall... If you arrive at the right season (after the rains and just beforw the summer heat) you will find the puddle under the waterfall as a great place to dip. The water is freezing cold, but that is most of the fun...
On your way up or down you may encounter some wildlife as river crabs and butterflies. Be kind - Save them. Do not harm them.
A "Do Not Miss" spot in the island.

We are keen walkers, although we didn't walk too far on this occasion and you do not have to be particularly fit- just sensible shoes. There were several hiking groups following the trail.
It's such a glorious walk from the car park. Takes about 10 minutes or so but extra with the photo opportunities. Lots of bird song.
The falls themselves aren't spectacular but they are very pretty and the surrounding greenery and the crystal clear water spilling down is very relaxing. Didn't expect to find anywhere like this on the island. A place to definitely visit if you are on the island.
Reward yourself with a drink at the lovely cafe at the bottom. There is also an adjoining shop selling honey etc.
If this place was in the UK they would be charging you to park but happily this is Greece and it's free!!

Lovely walk from Nidri through the orange and olive groves. Takes about 45 - 60 minutes when you amble along like we did.
Once you get to the Taverna at the end of the road it can be a bit tricky if you're not good on your feet.
There are some tricky sections with stepping stones, a rickety bridge of two and some slippery steps. Definitely wear decent walking shoes or trainers at least.
We went a couple of days after heavy rain so the waterfall was in full flow - very nice. If it's been hot and dry for several days you'll not see much water.
We definitely recommend having a snack and a drink at the taverna near the waterfall - excellent service and decent prices.

We didn't really know what to expect when we set off on our walk from our hotel in Nidri. The route is well signposted and most definitely has the wow factor!
The beautiful wild flowers were in full bloom all along the walk! There are chickens, sheep, fruit trees and ponies in abundance!
Nature at its best and best of all its great for families as free for everyone to experience.
We rewarded ourselves with lunch on the way down!
Definitely one for the memory bank!

Hi, we are looking for the best place to park in your opinion before waking up, as there are a few travel guides suggesting different places
Thanks

Dear Jordan
There is a car park at Nidri waterfalls. It is a short walk from the car park through the gorge to the waterfall & pool. Be aware it is a tight squeeze actually at the waterfall. It is a very narrow confined space.
When we visited in August we walked from Nidri waterfront up to the falls.
Enjoy!

Can anyone advise on the type of terrain here? And what the footpaths are like under foot? Staying nearby next week and would like to visit with my grandmother. She is very fit for her age but worry she might fall.

Hi, there is a path from the carpark to the waterfalls. And there is a small walk road to the waterfalls. Just before the waterfalls is a big stears. I think that part is a bit dificult. But the view is already nice when she stops there.
Have fun !
