This is a public area, off road, comprising natural gardens on the cliffside of Leigh-on-Sea, and overlooking the River Thames Estuary, with views across to Kent and to the left towards Southend-on-Sea. Below can be seen the old fishing village of Leigh, which is still active in the shell fish industry. When the tide is high, the fishing boats can be seen coming and going with their catch of various local shell fish. There are numerous seats along these paths to rest and enjoy the view. This is a great place to visit at any time but in particular, at sunset.…

When the sun is shining and you pop your earphones in and take a walk along Belton hill up top, it’s not overly long but the views and nature are breath taking, along with some furry friends popping out along the way. Although not a long walk it's still a lovely visit. Stroll along the parade whilst watching the boats on the estuary or sit for a while on the benches conveniently positioned between the flower beds. Beautiful spot in the summer.

Belton Way Gardens are a peaceful open green space sandwiched between Marine Parade and Belton Way maintaned by the Council. Plenty of benches and fantastic views of the estuary and Kent but absolutely no facilities here or close by. The gardens are well cared for and interesting enough to walk but there is probably only an hour's worth of interest. The best way to enjoy the place is to buy your lunch from the shops in Leigh or bring your own and eat it looking out over the estuary. Although you will never see one, there are adders here, my friend's dog was bitten by one and survived only because it was a large dog. Further, both surrounding roads are fairly busy so if you take children you must keep an eye on them. Alas, very limited local parking.…
