The whole family, all ages, went to the wonderful area and stayed far longer than planned. There was a wealth of natural history here, with plenty of information available. There were brochures giving details of activities and workshops. Wear good walking shoes, enjoy the pleasure...More

This place is only 5 mins walk from home and I have strolled over to the Cafe there on several occasions. I love the place and though it is often a busy area, it offers a tranquil setting and lovely surroundings.

A fantastic place to go for a walk or to cycle. Beautifully quiet, The most noise coming from the scratching of a squirrel climbing a tree.

I love this place, it makes me so happy, my dog loves it too. The woodland centre isn't massive but has a lot to offer the whole family.

Mixed woodland. Actively managed with marked trails. Lots of birds and wildlife. Wish it was bigger.

Think you turned into the wrong car park. The car park entrance is on a bend and this single track road leads into a larger parking area and then a path takes you to the visitor centre with cafe, toilets and shop.

It is open all year round - the woods and reserve that is. The visitors centre is run by Essex Wildlife so usual opening hours but check their website for specicific times.
