Spending a number of weeks on Lembongan, and diving with Big Fish, it would have been criminal not to take advantage of the Yoga shack. I had never tried Yoga before, and didn't think it would be for me, however I had some sessions included as a freebie in my dive course so I thought I'd give it a spin, just for laughs. Turns out, it's no joke. It's the best freebie ever!

The welcoming atmosphere, Caroline's gentle but firm teaching style, her warm and engaging personality, but most of all the results I saw within such a short time soon made me a convert.

The shack itself is a beautiful place, a octagonal bamboo floor under a traditional roof, mostly open at the sides to let the breeze through. It is quiet and peaceful.

Caroline teaches both yin yoga, and more active, flow-based classes. I attended both, and the benefits I experienced really amazed me. My air consumption during during diving dropped sharply, my flexibility and stamina improved, and I had more energy. Put simply, I just felt better. A lot better.

It's difficult to describe yoga, you'll just have to try it out. Don't pay attention to the stereotype, I did, and discovered it is wrong. Try it out, and see for yourself if it is for you.

And here, at the Yoga Shack with Caroline, is the best place to do it.

If you want a vacation that includes doing some Yoga, then this is an amazing place to do it. The Yoga Shack is placed on the small Island of Lembongan, a thirty-minute boat ride from Sanur on Bali. The Lembongan Island offers, apart from this great place to practice yoga, a serene environment, white beaches, great surfing, diving and snorkelling.

The Yoga Shack itself is situated in a beautiful hidden garden. The rooms and surrounding have a very natural earthy feeling, the owners are superbly kind and friendly, and I left the place feeling more relaxed and peaceful then I have felt in months. My only complaint is that our room had a fair bit of light coming in at night, but that wouldn't stop me from coming back again.

You are able to take part in two yoga classes everyday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The classes take place in a beautiful open space, where there are fans and yoga mats provided for you. The morning class is a great way to wake up and start your day. Stay around in the hidden garden for breakfast after the class.

The shack itself is so chilled out - you can hear the sounds of insects and birds and feel a gentle breeze during practice. Most importantly, the instructors are awesome! Caroline's classes were a great workout and got me into poses I'd never done before. Alfred's classes were wonderful - he adjusts you gently to help you reach your potential, and I've never had such a blissful savasana! Thank you and I really hope I can make it back to the shack in the near future!

i didnt like anything at this place or teacher. teacher started class over 10 min late, yoga place in bad condition (floor is very uneven and has holes in it), teacher appearing not heartful at all (what i expect from a yoga teacher), not doing any corrections (even if it was obvious as anyting).

We're sorry that what we have to offer didn't meet your expectations. Sometimes one of the most challenging aspects of one's yoga practice is to leave the ego at the door when entering into a space, to let go of expectations and open the heart and the mind to the possibility of a new experience. Classes that tend to bring up the most emotion whether positive or negative are usually the most powerful. Incorporating the Yamas and Niyamas into your practice is definitely something worth exploring.

one reason I travelled to Nusa Lembongan was to practice yoga at yoga shack as I had been there two years before and enjoyed the classes. however twice I walked half an hour from my hotel to do classes only to find they weren't on. I was really disappointed and no one really apologised or let me know when I was sitting waiting for 10 minutes. the only time. I went to get information I got yelled at for not taking off my shoes even though there were no signs.
I think the yoga sounds good however I won't find out!

Unfortunately as with many small businesses if we have staff sickness it is almost impossible to arrange replacement staff at short notice especially on a small remote island. On the few occasions we have had to cancel classes we always make sure there is a sign posted on the entrance to the Yoga Shack apologising for the cancellation. We also post this information on our social media pages as soon as possible. As the Yoga Shack is located within the Secret Garden Bungalows where many guests are relaxing it is not always possible to distinguish between Yogi's and other guests. However your feed back is important to us and we will doubly make sure that if we have to cancel a class again that someone is walking around making sure everyone knows. As is the custom in Bali and most of Asia we do ask guests to leave their shoes outside and we do have signs explaining this at both entrances. Obviously you missed them both so we will review their location and make sure they are more visible. The reason we ask guest to remove shoes is we had a member of staff slip over one day hurting their back because some one had come in dripping wet and left a puddle of water on the tiled floor.

We went to Lembongan for diving, and it's a coincidence to find Yoga Shack just across our dive resort. We had an amazing Yoga experience with Caroline whom we have known since we visited Manado and met her there last year. We were introduced to Yoga quite some time, but we fell in love to Yoga because of her! The way she teaches Yoga is very detailed which helps beginners to understand how to do the pose and breathing.
The bamboo hut where we do the Yoga is really amazing and it really help us relaxing ourselves with the cool and chill ambience in contrary of Lembongan's hot weather.
Conclusively, Yoga Shack is a definite must visit place when you are in Lembongan.

The yoga teachers at the shack have been great - without exception - and I've been doing yoga here for 4 months, so there have been a few different ones. It's amazingly good value (60,000 Indonesian rupiah or only $5 dollars or so for a good 1 and a half hour session) and the shack is a cool structure - almost hexagonal, made of springy bamboo and open to the breezes. When it gets too hot, there are fans, mats are provided and there are beautiful hangings, plants and a little Hindu shrine to feast your eyes on. What's most impressed me has been the quality of the teachers and their ability to adapt classes to suit older people, surfies, those who are quite advanced and complete beginners & make it fun at the same time. It's great for relaxation / fitness in between diving or waiting for the surf, and the hosts Reece and Tim at Secret Garden are incredibly helpful and attentive. You can find it easily - Yoga Shack is inside Secret Garden Bungalows, just 50m behind World Diving on the main beach of Jungutbatu. Or go along the main road towards Mt Agung and turn left just after D&B's warung, before Pondok Jenggala. There are 2 sessions a day, 8am and 4pm.

I visited the yoga shack for an 8am Hatha flow. It was the most basic (and in my opinion poor) sequence I have ever experienced. This was likely due to teacher inexperience, which was obvious from both the sequence and the verbal instructions often coming after the pose had been transitioned. I was unhappy with my experience as an intermediate yogi and do not think the class was worth 100,000. It should also be advertised that the teachers are in training or very new.
