The best preserved of the remaining ancient temples of the Dieng area, which predate those of Borobudur or Prambanan.

The temple itself is small and quite well-maintained.

What makes it unique is the view surrounding the temple, mountainous scenery contrasting beautifully with the dramatic blue skies.

One of the best places of interest in Dieng, second only to Batu Pandang Ratapan Angin.

It's a small temple complex but it has a beautiful environment and we enjoyed the walk between the different temple areas. 25.000 for entrance. Watch out for scammers who will try to convince you to pay 150 000 for entrance and a guide and say that the coloured lake is 100.000 entrance fee so you only pay 25 000 for a guide. You don't need a guide, it's easy to walk about and you can read up on everything on Google. Entrance fee to the lake is none existent if you walk in from another direction than the "tourist" one.

Small but beautiful!

They are in the process of reconstructing more and more of these temples. The region had over 400 of them but so far only nine have been re-discovered. You can walk around with barely any interruption from other tourists. This plus the natural beauty of Dieng should be enough to convince you to spend two nights in the area.

Lastly, because of the mild altitude, the climate is very temperate and balmy! A nice relief from relentless heat and humidity in the low-lands of Indonesia.

Said to be amongst the oldest of Java's Hindu temples, the Arjuna Temple is part of a complex of temples that's still featured in annual cultural activities in Central Java province. My only regret was that the english-speaking guides were fully booked, as there were only a handful of signs explaining the monuments. You can still see several of the reliefs on the buildings, which have been carefully restored. Recommended for people who love these monuments, it's very simple so don't expect Borobudur-type settings, but still awe-inspiring. I wouldn't have gone out of my way to visit it, but because I was climbing Mount Prau and I like temples, I decided to pay a visit. It is linked to the Dharamsala and Bhima Temple. Would recommend, gives you a glimpse into day-to-day Hinduism of centuries past.

Dieng Plateau offers more than 10 touristic spots, and Arjuna Temple is one of the most visited. this temple is believed as the oldest Hindu Temple in Java Island and the most intact among many temple in Dieng Plateau, founded during Sanjaya dynasty of old Mataram Kingdom. just beside the temple, visitors can also try horse riding.

TIP: there are two gates entering to this location, both sides have big enough parking space. if you visit this temple in group, be sure you always keep your ticket by yourself not by someone of your group. in certain case, you might be separated from your group, and you end up crossing the other gate towards Katotkaca Temple and Museum, and if you wish to join again your group who might still enjoying Arjuna Temple, then the management will ask your ticket.

Gorgeous small temple with beautiful backgrounds of Dieng green hills.

Green grass and concrete-block walkways surround it. Some parts were under renovation.

This place are so cold. When i've visited, not to crowded, so we can really enjoy this moment. Dont worry, this is not just a dead stone. You can climb Dieng mountain or just ride pony horse. Dus, do not worried about transportation, because shelter bus available.

After visited temple, you can try PURWACENG, local magic drink at Dieng. Try that..
