Quyuan temple, Cigui - Historically awe inspiring
Nov 2018 • Couples
The birth place of Quyuan - the famous poet, who died by jumping into the Yangtze in his last and desperate effort to stop the emperor’s being further corrupted by his other fellow ministers who were evil-minded. The villagers heard of his deed and raced out to the Yangtze and tried to retrieve his body and same time dumped rice dumplings into the river hoping the fish will not eat up his body. This day marked the beginning of the festival of 5th day of 5th month’s “Dian-Wu”. A great Chinese tradition recalling Chinese loyalty. An old temple worth the visit and to pay one’s respect. Well worth the visit though not much to view inside.

very old, history
Sep 2011 • Friends
i heard of the story of Quyuan's and i was so happy to visit her in my last trip.

It is old but still beautiful, not many people there. The temple has a long history that people could touch her with wall.

I am interested in Chinese history, thus it impressed me a lot.
