The museum is pretty good. They also have temporary exhibitions, usually worth visiting. But as it happens when art is at stake, one may like it or hate it....

Fairly good collection, not in the same league as the museums of Paris and London but worth the visit to see Belgian artists including the René Magritte section

We ended up at this museum more or less by chance after seeing ads for a temporary exhibition of the works of the photographers Pierre et Giles. This exhibition was a real treat, with all the famous works from these somewhat...unorthodox artists. The rest of the museum is well worth a visit in its own right, though - the collection... More

Small museum but very much worth visiting. Always has something new. Permanent exhibition is very good as well.

We went a great length (literally) to find this museum, and sadly, even locals that walked around Ixelles didn't know where it was. Maybe we tried too hard, since as for an art museum it looks kinda small, zero tourists around. But if you have an extra time to spend in Brussels, you've seen all the main attractions, and you... Discreet museum w some great special expos. Hidden in Ixelles, they manage to get some great Belgian & international works- and to put together original collections...

This museum shows a collection of mainly Belgian art of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries : A huge collection paintings and also some sculptures and Contemporary art. Also you have to check the temporary exhibitions on the website. Everything in a completely renovated building with nice incidence of light from big windows or artificial light.

The "Musee d'Ixelles" has to be included in the "must see" places when visiting Brussels. The collection is large, various, and in general the quality is surprisingly high (just because the artists are not among the most famous ones). Some frames are real masterpieces (such as "recouillement" and "eglise d'Antwerpen"). The entrance is only 8 euro, and the museum is... More

It’s always a pleasure to visit the municipal museum of Ixelles (‘Musée communal des beaux-arts d'Ixelles’), a rather small museum outside of the centre and away from the trodden path. Unfortunately quite some Tripavisor reviews of this museum erroneously comment on the huge Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium on Rue de la Régence in the city centre. So... More
