Windyridge Garden is truly a hidden gem. A group of us braved the rain yesterday to visit the place for the first time and were warmly greeted by the owner Roger and a cup of tea and biscuits. Despite the wet weather, the autumn colours were spectacular. We will definitely revisit to see the peonies in spring. High recommended to visit this place which is tucked away from the main road in Mt Wilson. Recommended to call before you go just to be sure it's open.Thk you Roger for the warm hospitality

After walking up the driveway of Windyridge Garden you reach the gardener and his staff at the coffee urn. Here you can pay of admission ( $10 for adults and $3 for children) and get a free cup of coffee and a couple of biscuits.
Late April proved to be a great time to visit the garden as the deciduous trees were showing a lot of colour. However, this garden does not rely on solely on the turning of the leaves to create beauty.
It is built on a sloping block of land and has been landscaped and layered to perfection. There are some nice sandstone and brick pathways joining the different levels.
Several very old and large trees have been left to create shade in sections of the garden.
My favourite section of the garden was the the water feature in the bottom right of Windyridge. It consists of a waterfall, a small lake and a jetty - all surrounded by attractive garden beds.
Not hard to see why Windyridge gets consistently favourable reviews.

After viewing all the open gardens at Mt Wilson, this is by far the stand out garden. Magnificent flowers and colour, water ponds and water falls. Stunning!! The owners gave an excellent intro to their garden an you get a professional brochure map with history of the property. Don't leave without a trip to the toilet, SERIOUSLY, the most modern and immaculate public toilet I have ever seen. A complete pleasure to visit.

Best time to visit was Autumn and Spring ....get yourself a pack lunch and spend a nice quiet afternoon with nature - barbeque facilities provided ...entrance to this private garden is $10 per adult and $3 for kids below 12 yo ....complimentary tea coffee provided ... no restaurant within the garden so strictly pack lunch ....
Definitely a beautiful place and almost hidden among the gum trees ...

What a find! Just popped by to investigate and delighted by the friendly chat with Roger and browsing through his 5 acre garden. It's magical! He has many plants for sale in his nursery.

Travelling from Tasmania to visit the iconic gardens of the Blue Mountains, Windyridge Gardens sat at the top of our agenda. The toursim office in Katoomba said it was open; the Blue Mountains tourist magasine said it was open; the signs on the road and just outside the gate said it was open......BUT IT WAS CLOSED!!

Hello John,
Our sincerest apologies, unfortunately we had a medical issue and had to leave for the hospital.
We are a privately owned garden and do not have staff. We are very sorry to have disappointed you on your trip and hope that you were able to see some of the other beautiful gardens on the mountain. We do ask that people call ahead if they wish to visit the garden and we will try to cater to the best of our ability. Again our apologies and hope that you had a lovely trip otherwise.
Regards

What an absolute treasure Windyridge Garden is at Mt Wilson.
We have enjoyed many gardens in Australia and overseas and would place this garden at the top of our list.
Wai and Rodger were extremely welcoming and very generous with their time and the plants that we purchased.
What a great variety of plants they have to purchase.
When visiting the Blue Mountains, then Windyridge is a must.
Will definitely return.

These gardens have been a labour of passion of the owners, and their love and dedication shows. They are spectacular! Huge magnolias, beautiful spring flowers, and a delightful series of garden rooms await visitors.
The owners made me feel very welcome, shared tea and gardening tips, and invited me back - I didn't want to leave and wished I lived there.
Spectacular spring displays include varieties I haven't seen before, and I am sure there is always something new to see here. There are lots of gardens to visit in Mount Wilson and some are better than others. This one is off the main road, but it is absolutely worth the short detour. You won't regret it!
