Iconic place for any cycling fan who wants to give it a go and climb one od the famous hills of de Ronde. In my case the cobblestones were wet after rain so the experience was perfect!

Nonetheless, a great historical and scenic place to be at. The steep stairs are cool to climb and the little church above and the views are worth it.

I was in the area and wanted to stop by. Parked in the neighborhood at the bottom and walked up the shaded cobbles. There is no cost. Amazing to consider the bike racing that occurs on these narrow, steep cobbles. The chapel at the top is lovely and quaint. One thing that struck me is that the chapel has zero reference to cycling. It could be anywhere ! Glad I stopped to see a piece of bike racing history.

the steep cobbled climb from the lovely market place up to the chapel is well known to fans of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (tour of Flanders ) one of the hardest one day cycle races on the calendar and one of the five "monuments" . Brilliant view from the top and a bar partway up if you need a rest! (Non cyclists probably wouldn't understand the 'excellent' rating!)
