About
Pizzorno Family is the fourth generation to continue with the same love and respect for nature that started over century ago. Carlos continues with the same love and respect for nature and carries on a family legacy that hasn't lost a single element of that fine wine tradition and that has adapted to our times with the most advanced techniques in cultivating the vines, elaborating wine and searching for enologist excellence. Having reconverted both vineyards and winery Pizzorno Family Wines truly represent a rich and prosperous land. Today Carlos Pizzorno has the leadership of a family that has believed in that land and through the years worked arduous and passionately for their wines.

- Charles P6 contributionsAn unforgettable experience that is as refreshing by the quality of the wine as by the atmosphere in which it is sharedCongratulations for an unforgettable experience. We were particularly impressed by Joachim’s, one of your sommelier’s, passion for and knowledge of wine. He does your estate great honor. It is so refreshing to see such enthusiasm in a world that is becoming increasingly jaded. Very much one of the most memorable parts of our trip through Uruguay.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 20, 2023
- hyndsy64London, United Kingdom68 contributionsPerfect experienceAbsolutely fantastic winery experience. We have done a few of these before in different places around the world, and this was by far the best. Really friendly staff that gave us an excellent tour followed by a very in depth tasting session. We ate plenty of delicious food and drank so much wine. Incredibly good value. Would recommend to everyone.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 5, 2024
- nmchappellSaskatoon, Canada25 contributionsTop notch in every wayWe have enjoyed many wine tastings around the world but this one was the best in so many ways. We opted for the premium wines with lunch and stayed in ones of their rooms for the night. From the moment we arrived we were treated to the best customer service ever. You almost felt like a celebrity. The wines were delicious and Gisela did a wonderful job walking us through the tastings. There was a little charcuterie plate as well as crostini’s aimed to pair with the wines. The lunch was over the top. Choice of fish, New York steak or rack of lamb with choice of starter and dessert. The wine flowed freely. Later our room stay included a multi course tapas meal with choice of wine. Our room overlooked the vineyard and was beautifully appointed including a jacuzzi tub for two which also overlooked the vineyard. The breakfast was amazing. Well everything was amazing. I can’t recommend this winery enoughVisited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 19, 2024
- 289bertnGuaratingueta, SP1 contributionCongratulationsCongratulations to the whole team from Pizzorno. The wine tour and tasting were done in such nice atmosphere combining rich information with beautiful location and excellent wine. The organization including pick up from hotel was perfect. Definitely will return some day to try also one of the guest rooms at the winery.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten February 2, 2024

We stayed for one night with a package that included meals and tasting. We arrived a little before the tasting and the room wasn't ready yet, despite it being past check in time. They offered us a tasting with other guests with a different package, so we had paid the Premium, but we did the master with less wines. The night, which included tapas and should have been premium wine, again we were given a wine outside the category (reception closes at 5:30 pm so there was no one to complain. Breakfast only starts at 9:30 am and we were entitled to for lunch but I couldn't choose the time, only at 1 pm with another group. So you waste a lot of time doing nothing as the winery is small. Tiny room with walls with plaster coming out and other walls with infiltration. Bathroom without carpet and with empty soap dispenser I don't recommend visiting, much less staying, there are better managed wineries.

Very friendly team with Alessandra and JoaquĂn who introduced us to the winery.
I think the tasting leaves something to be desired, as they offer two starter whites and two reds, one being Tannat from carbonic maceration and the other from 12 months in barrel. The best house wine (Primo) could gain more relevance or at least the 24-month wine (golden) in the masterclass tasting. It's difficult to want to buy something you haven't tried. Another thing I didn't like was the fact that they didn't change the glasses, red wines were served in the same glasses as the white ones. That seemed really bad to me. Little things like that can make an experience much more valuable. The “bites” and lunch weren’t very tasty either. Anyway, I bought a Primo to get to know it better at home. Investment of 75 dollars for visit, masterclass tasting and paired lunch. Other wineries offer tastings of their best labels and delicious pairings for similar or lower prices.

While in Montevideo on a girls trip with two friends, we decided to take a break from the city and visit a winery. We selected Pizzorno Famiky Eatates because of their responsiveness to my WhatsApp messages (we wanted to visit without a tour).
We’ve all been to several wineries and tasting in our lives, but nothing prepared us for the fun and intimate tasting and lunch with wine pairing that we enjoyed!! Joaquin was our “sommelier,” and we was knowledgeable, fun and his English was excellent (but he also helped us with our Spanish).
HIGHLY recommend a tasting, and a most amazing lunch, at this beautiful, family-owned winery.

We took the guided tour with tasting and lunch.
All wonderful! Our guide Augustina, knows a lot about the process, presented everything with great humor and calm. Afterwards, we had a tasting with Joaquim, who also with good humor and creative drawings spoke more about the process and the wines.
We continued on to the harmonized lunch, which was also fantastic!
I recommend taking this tour!

Simply incredible.
Of all the wineries we visited in Uruguay, Pizzorno was the best.
Sommelier Alessandra was extremely attentive, didactic and taught us a lot about the world of wine.
I've been to many wineries in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay and Pizzorno was the best.
It's worth the trip and the money invested.

Location is close to Montevideo. The service is exquisite, including a visit to the winery's facilities and the family history, told by one of the heirs, Joaquim. The tasting and the menu served are plentiful, with several options and high technical knowledge, with a Brazilian sommelier based in Uruguay for several years, Alessandra. For all these reasons, I consider this visit to Pizorno to be an excellent option for your visit to the neighboring country.

Good morning! We made the premium tasting menu package with lunch, accommodation, scene and breakfast. We found it very beautiful, organized, very professional. We made the visit to get to know the processing of the grapes , then the tasting with the best wines of the cellar ( has option for celiac ) . Then a very tasty lunch with harmonized wines. We made a very operational online check-in. The posada the rooms are beautiful, bed very comfortable, edredom well warm; the rooms are facing the parreiras, the bathroom very top with a hot jar worthy of 5 stars note; it has pool but it was very cold and did not roll. It has a area with sofa, TV, a kitchen to share with other guests.
The scene happened naked eiaco with very cozy fireplace. We were very well treated by Candela, an Argentine who took care of us , very attentive . Very good breakfast, has option for celiac.
He kept up to exceeded expectations.

Bodega is close to Canelones, it is the fourth generation that has taken over management. It produces excellent Tannat wines, but the 2022 Petit verdot stands out! service is excellent, Augustina, Candella and the whole team... the restaurant offers a tasting of four labels, so if you want a harmonized lunch and if you can stay there is an inn with five wonderful suites facing the Parreiras! The experience is worth it, at night dinner with 4 steps and breakfast
Very good morning!

Without a doubt, the best experience was at Pizzorno. Everything is impeccable! Since our arrival, the entire team has been very kind and attentive.
What sets this bodega apart is the tasting with masterclass. Alessandra, the house sommelier, explains the wines with great instruction and care. We also have a pairing class along with the tasting. Very cool.
I recommend the accommodation, which is wonderful too.
This winery cannot be left out of your Uruguay tour itinerary.

I went on a small group half-day tour from Montevideo out to this impressive winery. We were treated to a most informative guided tour of the winery and part of the vineyard. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and spoke excellent English.
We also had a delightful lunch with carefully chosen pairings. The wines were very high quality and I will make an effort to get some on return to the US.

Adorei o lugar, mas não tem nada para criança brincar. O esquema é de dia tour de visitação da vinicula, com uma breve aula e degustação de vinhos. E a noite mais degustação de vinho com pizza e um bate papo ao lado da lareira .
