    Beautiful, especially at Iseltwald
After we took the cruise trip to explore the Lake Thun, we came to Interlaken OST(see) to cruise over the Lake Brienz! We had Swiss Travel Passes so the fares were included within our Passes. Again, we had the privilege to sit upstairs which was a lot quiet and comfortable than sitting downstairs. It was quite empty so we managed to move around to the best seats to snap the best pictures alone the shores. The scenery was picturesque, although I have to say Lake Brienz is not as breathtaking as Lake Thun & the trip was relatively short (1 hr 13 mins), but it was still a 5 stars experience! The only downside was that I was punched by a German speaking guy on my chest unexpectedly, when I said yes to his friends to take a picture for the group of them on the ship. Don't really know why, (obviously he didn't like me) Fortunately it didn't ruin my day. Still, a 5-stars cruise which I will highly recommend it to everyone. p.s. Iseltwald is absolutely beautiful

    Very scenic, a must do.i
Joined at Interlaken Ost in fine weather and had an enjoyable excursion. This is not cheap, even with half price ticket, so do choose a good day. Some vessels call at different locations so check timetables if not going to Brienz. We took the train back to town for views of the lake

great way to spend a day
We took a round trip boat ride from Interlaken to Brienz, and then back again to Interlaken. The lake is beautiful, and it’s a peaceful journey in both directions. The boat stopped at several places along the way, and there were hiking trails, train rides, restaurants and waterfalls to enjoy. But we just stayed on the boat, and had lunch in Brienz. The water is remarkably clean, and a stunning turquoise blue. It’s a great way to spend a relaxing day in Interlaken.

    Just stunning
We took a one way cruise from Brienz to Interlaken and it was amazing experience because the lake is very beautiful - stunning turquoise water. There are some special places within this ride like seeing the Giessbach waterfalls fall into the lake or like looking at the Giessbach hotel and the rail track as the boat moves away from Giessbach. Such a calm and serene ride.

    Turquoise-colored Lake
We visited the Interlaken. And of course we took the chance of spending time in Lake Breinz - the lake with the turquoise color. It is so clean. The view is breathtaking. The area is truly a treat for a "dolce far niente".

Gorgeous - the color is better than Lake Luzern
We did the Steamboat ferry from the train station to Giessbach Falls. The Lake had to be the most beautiful one I have ever seen. We had a perfect sunny day with a few clouds to make photos better.I wish we had time to get off in Iseltwald. Just didn't have time.

    Beautiful Place
We took a boat ride on this wonderful lake. You can sail by diesel or historic Steam boat. Gorgeous mountain views beautiful turquoise water. Boats stop at a number of wonderful tourist attractions and the train station is near the boat terminal.

    look, lake, live
every angle of this lake is picturesque regardless of the weather. i'm in awe of the tranquil waters reflecting the mountains and the skies, a proof that there is really a God. i went there to actually see for myself the iconic setting where the piano being played by capt ri of the 'crash landing on you' fame was being played with this lake in the foreground. it became one of the items instantly in my bucket list. lake briez is my safe space in switzerland and will forever be etched in my memory.

Easily reached from Interlaken. Lake Brienz is simply stunning. We visited Brienz and walked along the lakeside past shops, restaurants and sculptures. In the summer you can take boat trips on the lake. Worth a visit at any time of year.

Nothing like the feeling of departing off on the Lake Steamer and looking out on the boat to the water and knowing this well be a very scenic special lake cruise journey.
It was clouded over the day I went so the water was not so turqouise. Nethless such a great trip.
The old steamer was unique and an area to see the old engines.
Such a tranquil and peaceful lake.
Steep and soaring mountains surround the Lake. It feels like heaven
Enjoy Switzerland at its best

Loved it! If you're in the area, take some time to relax between hikes. We took the train from Interlaken to Brienz (great views of the lake) then returned on the boat (better view of the lake!).

We took the last boat of the day and enjoyed dinner in Interlaken. It left us enough time to walk around the town after dinner.

Our main motivation of doing the boat ride was because it was included in our Jungfrau region pass. However, it ended up being one of our favorite activities of this vacation.

We spent a long weekend in the area and on a cold and drizzling afternoon we visited Lake Brienz.
Its waters are turquoise, there is a lovely walk surrounding it and several art pieces scattered here and there on the way.
I can only imagine that during the summer it becomes a heaven for water activities, although a local told me it's still rather cold.
Definitely worth taking a look at.

It was a cold December when we visited but even though it was raining but the rain couldn't hide the beauty of this turquoise lake. The scenery around was also stunning and breathtaking. Looks like a place with magical touch. Just wonderful!

Stunning day out. Beautiful lake - great for swimming and paddleboarding.
From Interlaken you can take a lake cruise or a train to Lake Brienz. We took the cruise there and the train back. We found the cruise really packed and there is no queuing system so it's just a bundle to try to get a good seat when the boat arrives. It's a slow journey but there are some wonderful views on it. You can get off along the route to visit Geissbach Falls but then you would have an hour until the next boat so we didn't.
We got the train back to Interlaken which was much quicker but you miss out on the scenery.
We found a great place for swimming and paddleboarding called Strandbad. It was very basic and the English was limited but it was lovely and quiet. There were changing rooms, toilets, a cafe, an outdoor shower and sunbathing lawns. You could hire paddleboards by the hour too. It was about a 10 minute walk from the train station but absolutely worth it. 5 Franc entrance fee.

The lake is extremely beautiful. The water is blue/ turquoise/green and surrounded by mountains on all sides. great reflections. excellent views in the morning and dusk. A great walking path surrounds most of the lake and has many beautiful artworks placed along the way. Walking along the lake is a high point. We had missed this one during all our earlier trips in the region. The boat ride from Brienz to Interlaken is also very good. Especially passing the small beautiful villages like Iseltwald on the way. One can get down at these spots and explore a bit as well.
Not to be missed.

A beautiful, calm and quiet lake with turquoise water. The ferry ride from Interlaken to Brienz on this lake is around an hour. The scenery is good, but not as dramatic as say lake Lucerne. There is a restaurant called Strandbad on the lake side in Brienz about 10 minutes walk from the station. Do try it, it is one of the most pleasurable eats that i had had for both the ambience and the food.

The place is very serene, peaceful and quiet. My daughter enjoyed the small pier photo op due to a popular Korean series that apparently had a scene sot here. Aside from the magnificent and postcard beauty view, there is a ferry that regularly stops here and goes around the lake. A must see in the area.
