Resting with a view
Oct 2018 • Family
Morcote cemetery is displayed like stairs design, you can see that this was done by wealthy families of the city.
The graves are all well maintained and with beautiful flowers, you can definitely fell the love and respect for their loved ones. The view to the lake is amazing.
I would recommend taking comfortable shoes. There aren’t many places to park, however there is a paid parking lot.
(I did not take many pictures - especially of the graves - out of respect for the families)

11 days in Switzerland. MORCOTE PART 3
May 2017 • Solo
After our visit to the Santa Maria del Sasso chapel, we had a short visit to the next door town cemetery. This is such a peaceful place to be laid to rest. The tombstones are created in various interesting designs. Some of them can be museum pieces. Some families who could belong to prominent families have large mausoleums built on the cliff where the cemetery is located.

It is easy to notice the long life span of the people who were buried here. This is a testament the healthy lifestyle in Morcote..

Resting in Peace
Oct 2016 • Family
Beautiful quiet and though-provoking cemetery attached to the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Sasso, built in terraces into the steep slope overlooking the picturesque village of Morcote, the Lago di Lugano and the surrounding hillsides. Exhibiting many family graves, some of them of famous individuals and very interesting pieces of sculptures. Definitely worth visiting and spending some time here in contemplation. See this in combination with a visit to the church Santa Maria del Sasso.
