About
Innerleithen, situated just a few miles south east of Glentress is the preserve of the more experienced rider. Deemed as providing awesome downhill and freeride trails, as well as a cracking red-graded XC route.

With Glentress just down the road in Peebles many people miss out on this absolute gem of a trail centre.

So first the negative - it has absolutely no facilities bar the car park. But this is actually a positive as it keeps a lot of people away and leaves the trails a lot quieter than the would be otherwise

Now the postives, the trails are stunning.
The red route is basically an almighty climb followed by a great descent. The climb maybe tough but you are rewarded with a proper hilltop summit complete with a cairn for your efforts. The ride down is amazing and really varied. A fast flowing first section just gets faster until you are spat out grinning on the fireroad. The second section mixes tight woodland singletrack with riding over rocky slabs.

The highlight though is the final section Cadon Bank. This is an immense rollercoaster all the way back to the car park. Apart from the first three drops which can be ridden round everything else can be rolled if you want to take things slowly but let go of the brakes and you can almost fly! It's possibly the best section of singletrack descending in the whole 7 stanes network.

I really love this place, highly recommended for the more serious biker

We went on a weekday to have a quiet ride and I’m really pleased we did.

The red run was awesome, fun, winding and challenging uphill climbs with great views at the top.

If you are looking for some challenging trails and something a little quieter then Glentress (especially on week days) then it’s a fun day out.

Visited here for my second uplift with adrenaline uplift. Great trails with some really good steep technical trails and off piste stuff. The uplift is also very well run and can’t recommend it enough.

Tough climb but well worth it for the views. Don't underestimate the difficulty as it is a long climb to the top. If you are feeling fit then the whole of the Minchmoor is worth attempting.

This place is fantastic, called in after two days riding glentress not expecting to be that impressed. Defiantly don't over look Innerleithen it's just as good if not better than glentress, I didn't do any of the dedicated down hill lines just the marked red route twice.. Will defiantly be back to ride it again awesome

Have visited here a few years ago and cant really remember that experience but after this weekends visit really loved it. Glentress is just down the road and more of a trail centre where this is just up and then coming down! its a hard climb up - approx. 6 miles pretty much going up and up. Yes its hard but also very rewarding if you can do it. Decending was awesome. this just puts smiles on your face when hurtling down the tracks. Absolutely loved it. Really didn't want the car park to arrive when it did at the end - just wanted to continue riding more. Only down fall about Inners is that there are no facilities in the car park - nothing!

Innerleithen by contrast to Glentress is only a few miles down the road, however it is a different riding experience than its more famous trail centre. Innerleithen has a much more natural / technical appeal and would suit more advanced riders. On either side of the village lies some great trails and any local bike shop will point you in the right direction. Lots of unmarked trails that just ooze fun.

Innerleithen has a reputation as been an uplift centre with some awesome downhill trails. Well that's not me. BUT it also has a cracking red route with plenty of variety to enjoy; the town is bike obsessed and there's an old railway (now a bike track) that links it Glentress where there's even more xc to enjoy. Will be going again.
