It is worth to stop in museum end learn more about hops and beer. For best experience you should try some of the beers and even a traditional meal, workers on hop fields used to eat... (charged extra). There are guided tours for larger groups.

Well worth a visit, just a few hundred metres down the road from the beer fountain. Starts with a film then you are left to explore the history of hops, harvesting and beer.

This museum tells the story of beer production in the region of Zalec, mainly focused on the hops production. It has several floors with old equipment used to analyze the hops, to harvest them, to package and sell, typical clothes of that time, photos, etc. Much of the texts are in Slovenian, but they have translations in English for the most important ones. They also have an interesting video (where the visit starts) about the hop harvesting, subtitled in english and probably produced a loooong time ago. The souvenirs sold in the museum were also very nice.
It's unlikely that you would come all the way to Zalec just to visit the museum, however if you come for the beer fountain, I recommend passing by to take a look. You are not going to regret it. Especially if you are a homebrewer!

After visiting the famous beer fountain take time to learn about hops and brewing at the Hops Museum. Fascinating short film and interesting exhibits, well worth a visit.
