We enjoyed walked around this castle while savoring each precious view. We also walked down to the beach afterwards and enjoyed a refreshing drink right on the water...ahhhhhh!

While here for the week, we were otherwise busy as to never quite make it to the castle, despite its convenient proximity, until our last full day. Initially we'd thought its royal prince utilized it exclusively, but that's obviously not the case. Each level brings...More

A nice touch to a small rural town. It's very visible from the town and it offers a very nice view of the town and the sea. Entry fee is required, and the office is tucked in a nook that we missed when we entered....More

Not a ton to see in the castle but the views from the top are stunning. If you are up there alone it is amazingly quiet and relaxing.

Scilla is lovely small town, castle is very nice and has lovely view to Sicily and surrounging coast. There are some archeological and historical information inside, but what is most interesting is lighthouse.

We went up to the upper town and the castle from Chianasea and it was definitely worth it. Admission only €1.50. Nice old castle, badley damaged by earthquakes in 1873 and 1908, but plenty to see, including the WW2 signalling station and tighthouse

Have visited Castello di Ruffo on many occasions...even stayed there when it was a youth hostel many years ago! It has a very interesting history and the views of Calabria and Sicily from the Castello are worth the visit alone.

The castello Ruffo is a very worthwhile stop. Commanding views of the straights from there. There is also, in the castle, a great museum showing pictures of the fishing industry in Scilla.

Cost a paltry 3 Euros for us both to go in. Not a great deal to see but worth the trip up the hill for the spectacular views alone
