I took a bath in a communal bath in the center of Sawado Onsen. Bathing fee is 300 yen. There is a reception area and a small resting area at the back. There were two tubs, both heated. The heat is barely enough to soak in, but I feel the power of the hot springs. I thought this was Sawado Onsen. Parking is available for only three cars.

お湯は無色透明ですが，卵のような臭いと味がするお湯です。どちらかというと白濁の湯が好みですが，ここのお湯も天下一品と思います。お湯は熱めです。
以前訪問した際は，地元のおじさんが我が物顔で入浴されていたのでかなり気分が悪かった。そこで今回は人が少ないであろう時間帯をねらって再チャレンジ。お客も少なく，先客の地元のおじさんは大変親切でありがたい。お湯がとてもいいだけに気持ち良く入浴したいものである。
脱衣所に施錠可能な小さなロッカーがあり。また，駐車場は狭く，麓の駐車場に駐車し１０分程度登り坂を歩く覚悟を。

日本ロマンチック街道の暮坂峠からの途中に、沢渡温泉で日帰り入浴しました。昔、宿泊したまるほん旅館に立寄り湯の予定でしたが、日帰受付時間を過ぎてしまい、すぐ下の沢渡温泉共同浴場に温泉入浴しました。建て直したようで新しいきれいな建物でした。源泉温度５５度の硫酸塩泉の源泉掛け流しのお湯が４２度で湯口から注がれています。温度の違う２つの浴槽があり、飲泉用のコップが置いてあります。昔から草津の仕上げ湯と言われている美肌の湯です。新鮮できれいな無色透明の湯で、たいへんよく温まる良い温泉です。入浴料は３００円で、受付のおじさんがたいへん親切でした。

四万温泉の帰りにバスを乗り継いで訪問しました。小さな温泉街ですが、昔から泉質が良いことで有名です。丁度中央の通りに面して共同浴場があり、安価で温泉が楽しめます。訪問時は混雑していて、浴槽に入るのがやっとでした。

洗い場がないというか狭いというか、その点は残念ですが、気持ちのいい浴槽が２つ並んだ沢渡温泉の共同浴場は本当に気持ちよかったです。
湯温が高いのに柔らかい！素晴らしい泉質。
沢渡温泉は四万温泉とは違い随分静かな温泉街ですが、遊歩道もありのんびりできるいいところです。

草津温泉の治し湯で昔は活気があったそうです。
草津温泉の帰りに、たまには暮坂峠の若山牧水の歌碑を見物し日帰りの共同浴場に行きました。
草津の共同浴場は無料だったのに、ここは有料です。
地元？の人たちは入り口の人に挨拶して（顔パス？）入っていきました。
浴槽は二つで、「熱い湯」と「ぬるい湯」がありました。
熱い湯は痛いくらいで、拷問の様でした。ザブンと入ってすぐに出ても真っ赤になりました。
シャンプーも何もないのでタオルの一本は必要です。

草津方面から来て、沢渡温泉街（と言ってもごく小さな集落のみ）の上の方にある、共同浴場です。
わずかに硫黄の匂いが漂う無色透明の湯は、草津の湯のような刺激もなく、本当にいいお湯です。
共同浴場ですからアメニティは全て持参が必要です。
駐車場は施設前に2～3台あるのみです。
地元の常連さんでにぎわっています。
浴槽も小さな浴槽２つだけです。
こんな感じで観光客には少々敷居が高いですが、温泉好きなら近くに行った時、是非立ち寄ってみる事をオススメします。

沢渡温泉共同浴場に日帰り入浴してきました。
沢渡温泉は、温泉宿が十数軒ととっても小さな温泉街。そんな中に１件だけある共同浴場が沢渡温泉共同浴場です。建物は平屋で小さいです。中は脱衣場と浴室だけで休憩所はありません。浴室は内湯のみで温度の違う浴槽が２つあります。
お湯は天然自噴の源泉掛け流しで、無色透明の硫酸塩泉が肌にやさしくとても気持ちよかったです。入浴料も300円ととっても良心的でした。余談ですが、温泉の裏側の丘にヤギの親子が飼われていました。人に慣れてておとしくてかわいかったです。
アクセスは、国道357号を中之条町の市街を超えたあたりで、左の県道55号(日本ロマンチック街道)へ曲がって4㎞ぐらい。

ひなびた感があり、いつ来ても変わりません。草津温泉で宿泊した翌日のお昼頃に入りました。草津で充分に温泉を堪能しているのですが、『草津のあがり湯』との情報だったので、山道を選びたどり着きました。やっぱり、寂れた感があり何にもない印象の温泉街です。泉質はアルカリ性だったのですね、何度か来ていますが初めて知りました。入浴後は、肌がさっぱりする感じでした。お風呂に入り、お腹が空いたのでお店を探したのですが『お蕎麦屋さん』と『ラーメン屋さん』したないと共同浴場の受付の女性にそっけなく言われてしまいました。こういうところが、ひなびていく原因のような気がします、

草津温泉より標高が下がったところにあって、草津温泉は強酸性で、肌の殺菌作用が強いのが特徴です。それに比べて「沢渡温泉」のお湯は、肌あたりが優しいため、「草津温泉の上がり湯」とも呼ばれています。
また、「沢渡温泉」は小さな温泉場で、草津ほど知られていないためか、この周辺の宿は、親切にもてなしてくれます。温泉も人も肌当たりが柔らかいです。
