Imagine this - It's Monday, you only have one day left in Costa Rica, and you have yet to get on a Mt. Bike which was actually the reason for your visit. You have to accept defeat right?
Now - Imagine This! I call "Costa Rica Ride Green Adventures" late evening on Monday and at 6:00 A.M. the next morning, Owner Fabian Duran picks me up at my hotel in San Jose, takes me to breakfast, then on an Incredible Custom Mt Bike Tour to the Tapanti National Park, followed by an fabulous dinner and somehow gets me back to my hotel in time for my flight home! What's more is that it was the perfect ride for my circumstances, skill level, and not once did I feel rushed or concerned for any reason. My ride included a full tour of the Coffee Fields as well. I don't know how he did it, but I will be forever Grateful. Since arriving home, I have received a number of emails from "Costa Rica Ride Green Adventures" with photos of my wonderful experience. I should also mention Fabian charged me less than $100 for this life experience - Un-believable!

Happy New Year!
Now - Imagine This! We are very happy that we achieved the goal getting you an excellent experience in Costa Rica doing mountain biking; many times in life what we plan least is what best comes out. We hope to see you soon in one of our multi-day adventures to show you more of our beautiful country, the best way to know it is on two wheels.

So glad we did this tour. Fabian is very nice and a wonderful guide. The ride was challenging but beautiful. It was an excellent way to end our trip to Costa Rica. ¡Pura Vida!

Imagine this....up in the mountains riding a tour provided mountain bike through coffee fields over red stained volcanic rock. We also had helmets and gloves provided. The view and experience I will always cherish, not to mention, the good conversation and camaraderie distracted from the occasional "why am I riding / pushing my bike uphill again" thoughts :-). I loved every minute of it and Fabian is a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable of his home country. We did the Doka coffee fields tour which ended with lunch and was really a fun day out. Before getting back for lunch, we had a pit stop at a small store which contained all manner of really nice souvenirs. A couple owns the spot and while the husband collects currencies from around the world, the wife crochets these cute coin purses. We had fresh strawberries here while purchasing goodies to return home with such as jams, coffee beans rosary and brightly painted cross.
What was extra special was that on our drive back to our hotel, we asked Fabian about how best to do the Irazu volcano without all the bells the other tour companies were offering. He immediately offered to tour us around and only take us to the places we wanted to see - how cool is that!? We even ended up seeing places we didn't know we wanted to experience until we did it, that was how intuitive Fabian was about the vacation experience we wanted to have. So we had a second fun filled day, this time in Cartago starting with Irazu volcano (first visitors to enter!) then on to the spooky Durán Sanatorium. From there we went for famous, family owned, homemade ice cream from the very lovely Granado family. Soon after, we were humbled and grateful to visit Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles (Our Lady of the Angels Basilica) - I'd recommend walking with containers if you wish to collect holy water to return home with, if not, they have on sale. And definitely say some prayers while you are there. Our final stop was the Cartago Parish Ruins where you can peer through the large gates to observe the well kept garden on the inside. Throughout this day, Fabian shared stories of Costa Rica with us. I highly recommend any of the tours Fabian and his team offer, you are guaranteed a memorable vacation experience.

Fabian took me and my friend hiking. We saw architecture, lots of birds, sunsets, and native people. He's and expert dirt biker but we appreciated his breadth of knowledge and patience for tourists who talk a lot.

As an avid MTB rider , I was looking for a one of a kind adventure to enjoy along with my hubby. I have to say that I am pleased and happy to have been part if this tour.
Met some wonderful people and the ride was simply the best. The scenery ( volcanos, Guayabo, dirt roads, mountains etc ... ) is something you will take with you forever.
Fabian and his crew make a great team: they support you all through the ride , cheering you up, giving you riding skill tips, and of course making sure everyone is safe.
I would recommend this tour to anyone , no matter their skill level. You will not regret it !

I joined Los Pericos of CR Ride Green Adventures for a beginning/intermediate level mountain biking experience to the Rio Tulin, just outside of Jaco Beach. The tour guides picked me up in San Jose and provided me with all that I needed for our adventure on the coast.
Fabian, Chaty and Eric gave me many pointers of what to do and not to do during mountain biking which helped a ton throughout the ride. I was fitted with an awesome bike, gator aide and water. It didn't take long to adjust and we were off on the trail.
I don't have much experience riding a mountain bike but am an avid road biker/runner and exercise enthusiast. Mountain biking kicked my bike that day. Chaty gave me wonderful instruction that helped me get through the ride and I was soon very comfortable finding my own stride and working on improving navigating the hills.
For a beginner I found the course challenging but doable. I think that with a bit more experience working the gears on hills I will do much better next time. I plan on practicing here at home in the meantime ! Mountain biking is physical and mentally challenging but fantastic exercise and a great way to explore a new place.
Along our journey to and back from the Rio Tulin we happened across a school band which we stopped to enjoy for a bit, a local supermarket for snacks and a local sculptor of truck sized creations who was more than happy to share his story and works of art with us. The Rio Tulin was a refreshing destination, off the beaten tourist path and home to beautiful wildlife and tropical scenery.
I would definitely recommend Los Pericos Ride Green Adventures to healthy travelers or families/groups looking for adventure and a good work out. This type of activity would be great for bonding adventures as well. Book a ride for the morning and enjoy a well deserved lunch with enthusiastic guides and your group. Pura Vida !

We are in our sixties staying in Santa Ana, one night, Our plane leaves at midnight, we are used to biking 10 to 15 miles with hybrid bikes and we can hike about 8 miles depending on the terrain. Do you have anything that would be available at our level of fitness? Thanks
