新夕張駅すぐにある道の駅メロード（実際はAコープと思われる）の中にあるお菓子屋。「たんどら」（＝石炭＋どら焼きらしい）なるどら焼きのメロン味とチョコ味を購入。皮は食用の炭を混ぜているとかで黒いのがおもしろい。冷やして食べると意外においしかった。

メロンパンは子供が喜ぶ

夕張と言えばメロンと石炭。このお店では石炭をイメージさせる色のクリームを挟んだ「たんどら」と週末限定のメロンパンがオリジナル。普通のメロンパンを2つ合わせ間にメロンクリームを挟んだものですが、子供には欲しくなる見栄えです。

たんころソフトよりもたんどら

道の駅内にあるお菓子屋さんです。ほかに本店があって、道の駅にもお店を構えているのかと思いきや、道の駅にあるのが本店というか唯一の店舗のようです。たんどらはメロン餡をいただきましたが、しっかりメロンの味がします。たんころソフトは、ソフトに石炭をイメージしたコーヒーをキューブ状に凍らせた小さなアイスブロックがのっていますが、カッチカチに凍っているのでソフトとは合わないですね。口の中で氷の粒だけ残っちゃいます。

インスタ映え間違いなしのメロンパン

大正10年創業。夕張が炭鉱で栄えていた時代から続く老舗の菓子舗。新夕張駅前のメロードの中にあります。夕張産、北海道産の特産品を使ったオリジナルなお菓子がいっぱい。石炭とどら焼きを合わせた「たんどら」や土日限定の「ころころ夕飯メロンパン」が有名。なかでも「ころころ夕張メロンパン」は、夕張メロンの果汁を使用した本当のメロンパンで、メロンパンの間にメロンクリームが入っていて、見た目もメロン。味は繊細で、サクサク、ふわふわで味も納得。インスタ映え間違いなし。

この冬最後の夕張観光で新夕張で下車して｢道の駅メロード｣内の阿部菓子舗の竹炭を混ぜて焼いた看板菓子どら焼きの｢たんどら｣を食べてきました。

このたんどら中身の味が違ういくつかのバージョンが有ります。

夕張らしく｢メロン｣と春らしい｢さくら｣を注文。

「さくら｣は鶯餅がそのまま入ってるという衝撃的な物でした。

新夕張駅前にある道の駅夕張メロード内になります。夕張メロンパンを食べたかったのですが土日祝日限定ということで、この日は平日だったので断念。看板商品の「たんどら」を頂いた。石炭をイメージしているので炭入りのかわは黒くなっています。クリーム入りなので要冷蔵商品でした。

冷たくてまた違った感覚どら焼き

阿部菓子舗はＪＲ新夕張駅より徒歩２分の｢道の駅メロード｣と言うショッピングセンター内に入っています。ここを有名にしているのは夕張炭鉱の石炭からイメージした真っ黒のどら焼き｢たんどら｣です。

どら焼きとはいっても要冷蔵のちょっと変わり種です。

またここには特産の夕張メロンにちなんだ週末しか購入出来ない｢夕張メロンパン｣が有ります。

夕張メロンソフトを食べ比べ

道の駅にあるA-coop メロードでは以前から夕張メロンソフトがあります。屋外にあるショップでも一味違うソフトが売られているのですが、メロード建物内にあり、たんどらやメロンパン、昔ながらのケーキや最中などの和菓子まで幅広く扱う阿部菓子舗でもまた一工夫したメロンソフトがありました。
どちらかというとメロードのソフトに近い味で、丸めた柔らかめの南部せんべいみたいな菓子が刺さっていて、食べながらスプーン代わり。
3種類のソフトを食べ比べするのも楽しいですね！

「たんどら」という石炭を模したどら焼き

新夕張駅近くの道の駅メロードには夕張メロンなど地元夕張の特産品やお土産が売っていますが、テナントの一つである阿部菓子舗では「たんどら」というどら焼きが売っています。
かつて炭鉱で栄えた夕張の街ですが、石炭をイメージしたどら焼きです。真っ黒な見た目は食用炭を使用しているそうですが、ふわっとした外皮に詰まった餡もしっかりと甘みがあり、食べてもお土産にも最適の一品です。

チョコっと生っとら？

こちらの代表作「たんどら」をいただきました。竹炭を練り込んだ黒い生地のどら焼きに中身がそれぞれチョコレートや小豆、かぼちゃ、夕張メロンなど選べるようになっています。

私は「チョコっと生っとら」と名付けられたチョコレートクリームを食べました。固めのクリームで私は好きです。生地は黒いだけで炭の味は感じません。

日曜日の午後で雨降りでしたが、次々とお客さんが来て買っていました。
道の駅の中にあるので、ドライブのおやつにいいかも。
