新函館北斗駅を降り、バス停などのある表側に降りると、駅舎の横にひっそりと石碑が立っています。大きな石碑が立っているだけで、代表歌が流れるなどの仕掛けはありません。

三橋美智也生誕の碑があります。ミリオンセラーになった曲の紹介等がありますが、音楽が流れる等もなく少し寂しいですね。代表曲でも流れればいいですが。

紅白14回出場の偉大な歌手の歌碑です。旧上磯町出身。難しいのは新函館北斗駅があるのは旧大野町ということです。北斗市というくくりでは合っているのですが生誕の地と言ってしまっていいのか、地元としてはチョット違和感。とにかく新函館北斗のまわりに何もなさ過ぎて、話題になりそうなものを掻き集めた感。ただ昭和３年生まれのこの大歌手を若者はほとんど知らないわけで…。

新函館北斗駅の新幹線側の出口を出ると、右側の公園の隅にあります。あまり大きな碑ではなく、今年は特に雪が多いようで雪に埋もれてしまっていました。

「三橋美智也さんの記念碑」は、新函館北斗駅西口の公園の一角にあります。三橋さんは昭和を代表する演歌歌手です。「古城」「哀愁列車」「夕焼けとんび」が碑に刻まれていました。

新函館北斗駅前に三橋美智也 生誕の地記念碑へ拝礼して来ました。ほぼ気にしている人はいませんでした。新函館北斗駅前のバスターミナルといっていいでしょうか、バス停が複数あります。西口公園にあります。函館市内にある北島三郎会館は比較しないでください。
