It is correct that this is a tropical island and has coral, but do not imagine Mauritius. The interior is relatively hilly with a lot of sugar cane. The towns are fairly standard Japanese architecture. There is some good snorkelling. Top tip is foot wear for the beach as coral fragments can be very sharp. All tourist places will give... More

I've visited Japan a number of times but this was my first trip to Okinawa. I'm so glad that I ventured off the main island to visit Kumejima Island. Here is where my fondest Okinawan memories were developed and where my heart remains.

How lucky can you be to live in this paradise. I was "warned" that there was nothing to do on this island since it is really out of the way. Just a 40 minute flight Naha, it is not that difficult to get to. I happen to avoid beaches with pirate ships and drunken college students so this place really... More

Worthwhile to visit this island. Quite relaxing. However, some of the living place other than hotel did not welcome non-japanese speaking guest. For snorkeling activity is rather good. The restaurant in here is good.

It's a wonderful island with less commercialized. If you visit here, don't forget to go to hate-no hama! It’s only 20 minutes by boat from “Tomari Fisharena”, Kume Island’s port.

Wonderful Island with loads of activities such as snorkling and sightseeing. One may appreciate the Kumejima Pepper and Tatami Ishi. The Sunsets are marvellous and the coral reef simply very beautiful. A Magic Scenery and highly recommended, Zabojad recommends it to anyone. Happy Sharing Happy Inside

We spent a total of three days in Kumejima, thinking of few days of a nice beach holiday. Weather was not accompanying us (during May, I have said it already in other reviews, avoid Okinawa). The impression was that the spot is great for a day trip from Naha or to stay few days but with much nicer weather. The... More

The main reason visiting this island was for Hate no Hama, which was so worth the trip. We arrived on the first flight from Naha, straight to hotel to catch the Hate no Hama tour. Got back around lunch. Ate lunch at hotel then lounged by the pool and swam and relaxed. Hired a car in the afternoon and drove... More
