On one dry and sunny day amidst a rainy week during the off-season in Dec 2018, all 6 of us, young and old, journeyed from Tomari port in Naha to Zamami island. After a rather tiring 30-minute walk from the Zamami jetty (we're urbanites), the...More

We went during the off season. Beautiful warm weather and clear blue water. Take sandals for sure. Much of the beach is covered in bits of smooth coral. You can walk on it but it is easier with footwear.

Several other people told us this was the best snorkeling spot on Zamami. We loved it ourselves. The turtles that day apparently were on the other side of the island though.

The beach was absolutely stunning, snorkelling was wonderful as there were plenty of fishes, star fishes, clams, and sea cucumbers nestled among the corals. The crew running the snorkel gear rental stall (they rent beach parasols, underwater camera, beach chairs, etc as well) was really friendly,...More

Well the beach is big and beautiful, but you cannot enjoy it at all! There is a post stamp size area where you are allowed to swim. Lifeguard run after us when we were walking to a nearby island. He was quite mad and said...More

Really goid snorkling site in the western end of the beach, by the wooden structure. I saw alk kinds of tropical fish and coral. Careful with the sea snakes, there are some and poisonous.

Lots of colourful fishes just few metres from the beach. Toilet and shower (need to pay) facility are available. There is a restaurant and you can rent snorkeling gears from a shop there too. 20 to 30 mins walk from the town.

Hello! I have just read your question. It takes 3.5 hours from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Naha Airport and then, from Naha Airport to Tomari Port where speed boat (40-50 min.) or ferry(70-80 min.) leaves to Zamami Island.
