ここの水源は岩の切れ目から吹き出る水、水汲みのパイプは数本あります、この時期川沿いに降ればそうめん流しをしている場所がある、満願寺に戻る道筋から滝が、高さは無いが川幅いっぱいに滑るように水が流れている。

満願寺温泉から5kmほど案内板に沿って進むとかわいい小さな赤い鳥居のある水源があります。筑後川の上流にあるこの水源は、あまり観光地として有名ではないものの公園内では休憩できるイスとテーブルもあり、おいしい軟水を味わえる隠れ家的な水源です。水量も多く、ちょろちょろと湧いているというよりも3箇所から豊富に出ています。蛇口の整備もされており、水も汲みやすかったです。聞くところによると、近くで豆腐が作られていたり、わさびも栽培されているんだとか。次回はその周辺も含め、散策してみたい場所です。

南小国町を流れる筑後川の源流に位置する立岩地区に「立岩水源公園」があります。阿蘇方面には水源地が多く、水が美味しいと有名な熊本ですが、ここの水は、熊本県平成の名水百選にも認定されていて、まろやかな軟水が特徴です。
おそば作りにはもちろんのこと、お米をよりふっくらと美味しく炊く事ができると評判。1日380トンの豊富な湧出量を誇り、清らかなおいしい飲料水として重宝されています。
水源の水温は、常に13℃で保たれ、自然豊かな場所にあるため、地元の人の隠れた冷涼スポットになっています。旅行のお供の飲料水にぴったりです。
なお、水源の水汲みは無料。水神様を祀る小さな神社もあり、水汲みをした人がお賽銭をする姿もよく見られます。

小さな看板が出ています。細い山道をしばらく登って行きます。
有名な池に湧く湧水より、じゃんじゃん流れているので汲みやすかったです。
管理料100円が必要だったはず。

私は何度か息抜きに（立岩水源）には行った事がありますが・・・
なんと・・
立岩水源から山奥に登って行けば、集落があり・・
シャクナゲ園を営利目的じゃなく、個人的に手入れをしていました。
見学をさせて頂いたうえに、（おにぎり）迄、ごちそうしてくれました。
その節は本当に有難うございました。

黒川温泉の旅行の帰りにはいつも立ち寄り汲んで帰ります。
満願寺から奥に細い道を進んで行きますが、分岐点には案内板がありますので迷うことはないと思います。
途中には川遊びのできる民宿や温泉があったり、夏限定のようですが流し素麺のお店があります。
現地に到着すると駐車場やベンチが完備されていますので、水を汲むついでにお弁当を広げて食事を楽しんでいる方もいらっしゃいます。
肝心の水ですが、タイトル通り水量がすこぶる豊富で、10リットル位ですとあっという間に汲むことができます。
おまけに味も甘みの感じることができる軟水で、大変美味しくいただくことができます。
ここは穴場でオススメです。

タクシーを貸し切りにしたので、急にあちこち行きたくなり、パンフレットの写真で気になったここに行ってもらいました。すっごい山奥です。熊本地震の際には、ここも濁ったそうです。
水は軟水。美味しいです。

立岩水源公園の湧き水は圧力釜でご飯を炊く時に、この立岩の水で炊くと・・
とっても美味しいですよ。
それから立岩水源公園の上に行けば集落があります。
そして集落の人が個人的に趣味でしゃくなげ園を作っていますよ。
入園料は商売でしていないので無料です。
私は個人的に大人4人で￥1,000-を気持ちで支払いました。
ちなみに集落のおばちゃんが、出来立てのおにぎりやお茶を差し出してくれました。
おばちゃん・・とても美味しいお茶と、おにぎりを有難うございました。
ご馳走さまでした。

山奥まで進んで行くとひっそりとある水源。とても水が綺麗でおいしい。のどかな景色もプラスしてとてもおいしいお水が飲めます。この水でお米を炊くととても甘さが増しおいしかった。水を持ち帰れるようにタンクを持参することをお勧めします。

珈琲やお茶に利用するとマイルドな味でした、１８リットル缶に２本いれて持ち帰りして200円を気持ち程度おいてきました。
