Charming little historical bridge
Apr 2018 • Business
I discovered the bridge (without looking at tourist guide) by the road, what a charming bridge! had a walk through it, interesting design, in a very beautiful way! like a step back in time. The trees on the other side makes it look even more charming!

Worth taking a look

VERY OLD AND VERY TYPICAL FOR ITS DAY
Mar 2018 • Solo
A great photo from several points. You may not cross it due to age; make sure to look under to see its construction.

Kotohira town and Sayabashi Bridge
Oct 2016 • Friends
From the JR Kotohira station we walked to the town where a festival was held for 2 days to celebrate the Kotohira shrine. They hold a silent procession at night but have dances on stages in the open during the day with stalls selling food and arts and crafts nearby. We were lucky to be there during this special time. We walked through the town and to this beautiful wooden bridge, over the Kanakura river, arched like a sword and built during the Genroku period (1688-1703).

Nothing special
Apr 2017 • Couples
We just drove through this place. Nothing special to stop us. Just a wooden bridge and we didn't even bother to stop for a photo.

The goddess will see you soon
Feb 2016 • Couples
There is an old tale that a goddess is living in the park of the other side of the little river and once a year in October she will cross this old covered bridge which is beautifully preserved.
Also, do not miss the red and yellw bridges a bit further down river.
