Took Olive bus No 2 here.Lots of olive trees. Attractions include the olive trees, the Greek windmill, the sun dial, the Happiness mailbox of olive, the statues of Greek Gods, the Corico, the Olive museum, the Fureai square, the Lamppost Bench, the Event plaza, the souvenir shop, Cafe Olivaz, Restaurant to have lunch You can buy postcards from the souvenir shop and drop it into the only olive colour post box in Japan. The post card will be delivered to your designated address. You can pose as what is being suggested in the guide map. Lots of people posed with a broomstick like in Kiki's delivery service, at the Greek windmill. Another favourite spot to take photos is the Lampost chair. Can learn about the history of olive planting in Japan, why the park is Greek themed . Can buy souvenirs and products made from olives at the souvenir shop.Tgere is no entrance here to visit. After all the visiting, can have lunch at the restaurants, have great coffee at the Café, taste an olive ice cream

It's a nice place, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes. While the pathways are smooth, there are some steep ones and if you're not careful, you might end of sliding accidentally.
This place has the oldest olive tree in Japan, a giant windmill, and a pleasant atmosphere.

We stayed overnight in Shodoshima for the Art Festival and so we had planned a sightseeing route including the Olive Park.
My husband probably enjoyed it a lot more with us (wife and daughter) so enthusiastic about sitting on the flying brooms, than if he had come alone! We also enjoyed tricking the kids (and some adults) back home about flying on the brooms like Kiki.
You may have difficulty finding a broom (free) after the arrival of a truck load of tourists. We got our brooms from other tourists as they were finishing their one hour of jumping :)) so if you don’t see any brooms on the wall, look for tired tourists outside near the bus stop.
This is part of our itinerary for the day, as the same bus continues to go to the Soy Village (and if you prefer, the end stop at the Movie Village).

Shodoshima is more recently known for its Olive Oil and this park celebrates it. It has a large grove of olive trees in front an behind the main building. There are land marks dotted around the property, such as the windmill. Our guide grabbed some broom sticks from the main building and insisted that we “ride it”. Cute bit of fun.

You go up the hill through the olive trees to see the oldest olive tree on the island. Also you enjoy the soothing view of smooth ocean over the olive trees. You can buy variety of goods using olive oil. The price? A little pricy!

We enjoyed walking around the Olive Garden and taking pictures with the background of the windmill. Free rent of broom in the center.

Olive Park has nothing flashy if you are after something new and exotic, but it actually has everything, especially if you are after a rather quiet unwinding day on the island.
In the park, there is Olive/Herb gardens to stroll around, herb shops and souvenir shop. There are a couple of restaurants on site, one is Italian and the other, more Japanese where they offer dishes using olives and local food. They also have accommodation Oribex Uchinomi, as well as Onsen spa Sun Olive Onsen in the premises. It is well located to walk to the beach or other tourist destination, such as Olive Garden, and small pigrim temples. The local bus stops at the bottom of the road, so if you have no means of transportation, it still is accesable. Also it is easy to get to if you are on a bicycle.
One thing that is not publicly announced well enough is the Herb Garden has a bakers building that was used for the live action version of movie Kiki (Majo no Takkyu-bin). It is now a little store selling herb items etc, which is worth walking in. You could almost see Kiki working there as a baker!

Nothing to do here. Very few exhibitions or anything. The attraction seemed to be a few faux Greek buildings and gardens and a shop with loads of olive based items. Even stuff you wouldn't really want. ESPECIALLY stuff you wouldn't really want. They say there're 30,000 olive trees there. I'll eat my hat if there are more than 5,000.

The buses are bit more frequently than other places in shodoshima. Bus took us right at entrance, you can viewing most of the main spots here within 30 minutes, but took us nearly 30 minutes to take photos because lots of people waiting on line. Then you walk down to the bus stop on main road, different from where we were off. Shop at main entrance sell all kind of olive products, worth to spend another 5 to 10 minutes. Great day.

It's a lot of nothing really; but it's in a lovely setting so quite nice for a short walk on a sunny day. However, don't take your dog, because it's not dog friendly - which is quite a disappointment, especially since there are more dogs in Japan than children. Dogs play an important part in many Japanese families and their wonderful contribution ought to be recognized and embraced.
