I went in families with a child younger than two years.
This aquarium in the site same as Mutsu(陸奥)memorial park.
We felt the distance with the marine life to be near very much.
Above all, it "is Japanese coral" to have been charmed; for indication "is the first among the world"! !It was written that is succeeded by artificial breeding of the Japanese coral! !
The appearance was attractive and was the looks that harked back to the world of Osamu Tezuka.
In addition, I want to go.

Not worth the trip
Apr 2019 • Solo
This aquarium is on the opposite extreme of the island for people entering through the Oshima bridge.
The collection is quite small, but what I couldn’t appreciate was the tiny recipients for big creatures such as the horseshoe crabs. There is no space for swimming or even making a turn.
Some people mentioned that the plus side was an open area to touch the living creatures. I saw it and that is another thing I couldn’t appreciate. Living creatures are not toys. They should not be manipulated, specially by children.
These are just personal opinions, because I took my mom with me and she liked. Well, she would like any activities when she leaves the house.

Nice small Aquarium with petting exhibit
Dec 2017 • Family
This is something quick and fun you can do while on the island. Price is cheap for admission. There is a petting exhibit for starfish and sharks. I recommend checking it out if your in the area.

Small but Fun Aquarium
Nov 2016 • Family
This adds a dash of fun to your Suo Oshima visit. Aquarium itself is small, but their touch pool is pretty good size. You can touch sea urchins, small shirks, hermit crabs, rays, star fishes, etc. The admission is a few hundred yen per person, half for kids.

An aquarium? Of sorts....
Oct 2016 • Family
This is a great little stop for anyone interested in marine life. It's tiny. Most would compare it's size to a pet store rather than an aquarium. But what makes it amazing is the dedication of the staff to provide a safe haven for both marine life and those interested in it. And the best part is a room sized touch pool that you are encouraged to walk in (the smaller sharks and rays won't hurt you!) and explore. Kids of all ages love learning in a hands-on manner, and the staff here make sure to provide that opportunity in a safe, fun, and very informative manner. They are happy to spend time discussing the creatures with anyone who has questions.

The aquarium is located in a larger seaside park that has a beautiful view and is a nice place for a picnic or stroll. Events are frequently located here, and there is a naval war museum in the same parking lot with a small gift shop. Admission to the aquarium is insanely inexpensive (a couple hundred yen for adults, half of that for elementary aged kids, and free for those 5 and under).

A fun touching pool for kids and adults
Jul 2015 • Family
Reported to be one of the smallest aquariums in Japan, it is a truly tiny place, with no dolphins or seals or large aquariums. But the huge touching pool is a great place for new discoveries, and my elementary school-aged kids spent a really long time enjoying the place!! Be careful, you might get wet!
