旧豊松村水仙の里(広島県神石高原町)

4月10日民俗学者宮本常一の足跡を追っての「むらめぐりーあるくみるきく」で、旧豊松村へ。合併して神石高原町にわなったものの、昔のままのたたずまいが残る。30年前からの「むらの花水仙」が道路沿いに果てしなく続く。｢むら並｣を見。高台から、吉備高原の集落を展望し誘われるでもなく手作りの水仙の里看板に従って2キロばかり、山沿いの道を入ってビックリ。そこに屋敷も見事な集落がまるで桃源郷のように出現。もちろん水仙は花盛り。こんもりした丘にはうつむく少女のようにカタクリの花。白いアマナととりどりに。地域内の道路という道路沿いの水仙に30年前、「むらの花を水仙に決めて、村中を花で埋める｣と話された村長さんの夢にはちょっとまだ時間がかかるが、見事な水仙ラインだ。むらの方々の手入れのほどを思うと、心にも強く感動した。いいむらだ。
