実は一番古い旧家

大山町所子地区では門脇家が有名だが、古いのは美甘家のほうが古いと聞いている。途中で火事になり一部を直しているために残念ながら評価が下がったそうだ。建物は生活をされているために見学は出来ないが、伝統ある旧家の庭をぜひ訪れてほしい。

庭園に富士山の溶岩！

大山のふもと、所子地区にある旧家。全国でも珍しいという左桟瓦が使われた表門からのアプローチや建物も立派だが、なにより庭園に置かれた大きなたくさんの岩が、富士山の溶岩というのにびっくり！日本でも珍しい庭園だそうです。建物内は見学できなけど、庭園はいつでも見学可能とのこと。

富士山の噴石の庭

大山町で一番古い美甘家住宅です。訪ねると家主の方が丁寧に案内していただけます。驚きは富士山の噴石が置かれた庭が有る事、昔に船で運ばれたようですが、ここにしかなく、富士山の近くの方も尋ねられると驚かれると言っておられました。住宅は屋根の瓦が出雲の影響を受けているように見えます。

17代目の美甘さんにお話を聞く

駐車場も整備されてます。500年続いている美甘家は現在17代目です。屋敷も玄関が3ヶ所あり江戸時代を残して平成にあるのが素晴らしく、立派な建物でした。庭石は富士山噴火時の溶岩石を100年前に手に入れられ、松と溶岩石のマッチが素晴らしく、全国ではなかなか観られない庭だと思います。
