A Walk to the House of Prayers
Feb 2021 • Friends
It was a nice experience walking on snow and admiring the beauty of nature in the surrounding on our way to Ogamiyama Shrine Okunomiya. I think autumn would have been a perfect season also to appreciate the change in colors of leaves. The shrine was a beauty to behold! It was very nice to learn about this part of Japanese religion.

The reward at the end of a snowy pathway!
Feb 2021
After taking a little uphill pathway surrounded by snow, we were rewarded with the beauty of this snow-covered shrine at the foothill of Mt. Daisen! I really recommend going in winter!

First time to a shrine
Feb 2021 • Friends
For me something which is related to Japanese traditional cultures will get me interested. I prayed when I arrived in that shrine. The mountain trail covered with snow make the tour more amazing. It is worthy of visiting

Picturesque Mountain Shrine
Nov 2020
I love the mountain shrines, especially the old ones. They are always peaceful and beautiful. I visited this shrine on my way down from Mt. Daisen. I didn't spend to much time here but just enough to see the outside and inside. If you are not hiking the mountain there is a road that leads here from the town so it's accessible to everyone. Very neat temple, I am glad I saw it.

Lantern! We are in the right way
Feb 2020
That was very great experience, from the pathway I step which were surrounded by the snow. Before reaching the temple and the shrine, we'll find the lanterns which showed us the right way to get there.
I got more knowledge about the historical story of the shrine and the temple and even I know how to differentiate both of them. You know, I also hit the gong in the temple. I really enjoyed this place.

Warm Peace Place
Feb 2020
I visit this place my friends. When we parked our car, we were welcomed by snow at the both side of the street. It was wonderful especially this year we can only find little snow in west part of Japan. I felt like visit another world. We stepped forward to the Shrine, the wind accompanied us like helping us to climb the stairs. It was warm and so peaceful in this winter especially for me. I am international student in Hiroshima University, It helped me to release my stress in the middle of bustle of my study.

Faith and White beauty
Feb 2020
The scenery looks very elegant and beautiful in the Winter. The shrine is present on the foot of the Mt. Diasen . It is one of the ancient shrine in japan. In winter the path to the Shrine is covered with snow and bit slippery. The peak of the Daisen can be seen in a clear weather. Accompanied with the magnificent view of the Mt. it will be great place to spend half a day.

Perfect in White

It was a perfect timing when we went here during winter. The mountain trail is covered with snow. We were so amazed that we didn't notice that it is cold. The old temple on top is worth the climb
