The Nanki/Kishu area is a beautiful area, not too widely toured by foreign visitors. With the itinerary and the scenic drive, it is a combination that is quite unforgettable. The itinerary can be adjusted as necessary and stops requested along the way. Please feel free to request any changes at any time.

The Oshima island offers many sea scenery view points along its wonderful designed walking paths, but the Umikongo rock formations are one of the most impressive ones. In the background one can see the Kashino lighthouse and the rocks where the Frigate Ertugrul sunk in 1890.

The coastline around Kushimoto and the Island of Oshima is quite beautiful and sometimes spectacular. If you are in Kushimoto, the southern most point of Honshu Island spend the time to cross the bridge to Oshima Island. The Tourist Information Office next to the station will provide a map of the island and the better sights. You can catch a local bus form Kushimoto but the trips are infrequent. To see the rocks you need to walk at least 15-20 minutes. The train ride of Shirohama toKushimoto gives some good views of the rock formations as well.

A relatively remote, quiet tourist attraction. Most people go to this area of Japan for the southern-most tip of Honshu, but since Umikongo is like 20 mins away, so we decided to drop by too. It is located on a small island connected to the mainland by a funny bridge. Quite a bit of tranquility on this island overall. To get to Umikongo, after parking, you need to walk for 5 mins. The path is nice in a way as there are lots of trees, yet also a bit scary as there are many spiders on the trees. However, once you get to the cliff, it's really pretty looking down. Typical rock corrosion by waves and wind. Ideal place to shoot some pictures.
