During our stay in shirahama we went to shirahama beach every morning for our early swim. Its so relaxing and the sun isnt hot, it wont exhaust you after swimming and youll still have energy to roam around the city afterwards. Theres a conbini nearby, some restaurants, coin lockers, dressing rooms and toilets. Its clean and free except for the... More

I really enjoy spending time here, just chill and enjoy. The beaches here are very well maintained, no one scattered their trash, it's all properly disposed at designated area. Mini marts selling smacks, ice creams, snacks & beach stuff all around. There's even a few free foot bath (hot springs), nearby the beach. There's also a few outdoor bath available,... More

Great white sand in a half moon bay. Clear water washing the sand from under your feet. The sand is so fine and white hence the name Shira. Good many eateries along the road behind the beach so lunch is just a breeze away.

Not a beach for surfing but lovely. Apparently the sand is imported from Australia but haven't confirmed that. Nice resort feeling. Good family beach. Have visited numerous times.

The beach was within a minute walk from our hotel (Sanrakuso). The sand was quite fine and very white. On the day we went, it was not crowded at all.

Shirarahama Beach is one of typical of white sand beach with clear water. In other side there's some sport marine activities like jet ski and others.

The sand is white and thin, beside of others beaches in Japan. Too many rules but cool place. The water is very clear, cold and clean. Great to go with kids!

Sand is nice but the beach is small and way to man made. Crystal clear waters a few shower wash off areas. Businesses have odd hours, restaurants seem to all close at 3pm and some reopen or open for dinner late in the evening. Town is old and I'll kept, needs some major updating. Beach is nothing spectacular.
