Check the bundled price

We went in December 2016. It was a very cold day, maybe it too cold cuz we saw maybe only 20 visitors that day 😬
It was like we owned a private park. No crowds. Paid entrance fee but did not see that they had bundled prices. You have to pay extra if you want to watch Dolphin Show or ride or enter the train museum
Animals looked cold too but saw there was heating lamps for some animals
You can buy food for animals in their vending machines
Petting zoo was closed 😞
Lots of drink vending machines around
I had to pay 500 yen per person to watch dolphin show

Fun for the kids but kind of expensive
Aug 2013 • Family
My kids love visiting Misaki Koen at any time of year but it's not a cheap day out. If you drive that's okay, there are no toll roads in the southern area ( we drive from Izumisano) but parking is ¥1200 for the day.
During summer, from mid July to August 31st about the pool is open. It gets crowded but it's a fun pool for all ages. It's a circular ring with a current flowing, you can float, swim or walk around - take your own inflatable toy, ring. In the center of the pool there is a water jungle gym. The highlight for my boys are the slides, of varying speeds, for kids 120cm tall and over (adults too).
There is plenty of shade but most people take their own pop-up shade tents and plastic picnic mats. Get there early for a good spot.
The food is the usual unhealthy overpriced fried stuff, you're better to stop at the 7-11 before entering the car park or take your own picnic.
Lockers are available at a charge of 4x100 yen coins, one is returned at the end of the day. The locker room is reasonably clean and well-staffed. Showers, mirrors, hair dryers are all available.
Pricing - child pool and park entrance is 1200 yen. I always try to buy discounted tickets pre-season. The slides are charged extra, 300 yen per person for a day pass.
There are a lot of animals at this park and a dolphin show. The kids enjoy the rides as well but you have to pay separately for these. The day soon gets expensive!
Kids buggies or pushchairs can be parked by the entrance to the pool where the staff keep an eye on them.
It's all on top of a hill so catches a breeze and is just slightly cooler then other places during summer.
There is quite a well stocked souvenir shop at the exit.
Check the website for info about the zoo side!
