I never heard about this Ropeway until I stayed in one of the hotel at Fujikawaguchiko. One of the tourism leaflets leads me to this wonderful tour site. It requires 1.5 hour driving time from Fujikawaguchiko. Most surprisingly, no tourist crowd there when we visited on Wednesday in February. We queried whether the ropeway was in operation once we arrived. Because it was quite silence in the surrounding area. Only 4 of us finally occupied the gondola car which should carry 45 people in maximum capacity.
We were so excited during this 7 minutes one-way ropeway journey. The upper slop it climbed, the better view we had. Especially we found the view of Mt. Fuji again. This is another viewpoint in different angles. Although the guide lady gave us introduction during the trip, we didn’t understand her Japanese. This is the only drawback.
Everywhere on the top of Minobusan Mountain was covered by snow. It’s so lovely. We stepped on the snow and visited different observation decks. The North deck was really a breathtaking viewpoint. We enjoyed very much the stunning panorama view there.
Before leaving Noriyuki hospital Station, we shopped and ate in the Outlook cafeteria-summit shop. It was a wonderful tour site I highly recommend. We were lucky to include this tour site into our itinerary. Thanks god !

This goes from the nearby temple to the summit of Mt Minobu and saves the arduous 4+ hour round trip.
It costs about 1400 yen per person return but the views from the top alone are worth it. You have a 360 mountain vista including the top 3 highest mountains in Japan m
There is also a small cafe and some further shrines and working temples together with some short walks.
Easy worth an hour.

We took the Ropeway to the top of the Mt. Minobu. There is a nice spot to see Mt. Fuji, but we were not lucky as the sky was covered with clouds that day. However we loved the hike back down to Minobu town. It is a very nice walk, visiting a couple of Temples on the way. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, offering us drinks and nice words.

The ropeway can get very crowded with the prayer pilgrims travelling to the temple on top of the hill but it’s definitely worth the 7 minute travelling time. The peace and tranquility at the top is wonderful. You can get a wonderful view of the valleys below and of Mt Fuji in the background

We went there after attending the buddhist morning prayer in Kuon-ji temple.
The ride takes 7 min and goes every 20 hours.
On a clear day one can get a glimpse of mount fuji.

Visited Mt.Minobu by taking this wonderfully smooth ropeway ride. Excellent views from the ride and once at the top with a few temples to look at while up at the top as well.

Great views during the ride. We took the Ropeway up and walked down but if you've got longer you could walk it both ways, or walk up and take the Ropeway down of course. Nice shop at the top and terraces for looking out at the mountain range from different points.

It's located in south of Yamanashi.

We can enjoy wonderful scenery there.

And possibly I may see a wild animal.

I think we cannot experience it in the city.

So please experience it in Mt. Minobu.

I used it to visit Okunoin. It was 1,500 yen round trip with a discount ticket. It took about 2 hours to walk up to the top in 5 minutes. You can also see Mt. Fuji between the mountains. If you have time, it might be nice to walk down.
Thank you very much.
