Nice place if you are around the area
May 2018 • Solo
It took me almost 4 hours by car to get there. I was a bit disappointed. It's quite a nice place, but there are not many roses. A bit expensive I would say, you need to pay for the road that leads towards the park, and also the lift is not free of charge, There is a nice view, but I wish they would have some interesting cafes, activities in the bays that are down the hill. Nature is really amazing there, but not much to do. We spent there about 30 minutes....

Panoramic views

You can take the cable car or the chair lift from the car park to the top of the hill.
The viewing platform offers 360-degree views of Japan Sea, Wakasa Bay and the five lakes of Wakasa-cho.
The old tea house serves good green tea and a kind of ancient sweet treat.

A beautiful panoramic view ...
Sep 2015 • Couples
We had perfect weather, so we decided to go up the mountain on the thrilling little chairlift (a tad scary) ... the view from the top is quite spectacular and worth the ride.
At the top, they have the usual tacky "couple" attractions (i.e. where a couple can place their lock on the fence), but it's still a great view. There are several places to sit down and take in the scenic view. They seem to be adding on to the garden area and a large section is for roses - probably nice in May?!?
Not sure what the significance of the 3 large tanuki's (raccoons) were though ... for a great family photo???
Nevertheless, the view of the beautiful deep blue and sea green blue ocean is lovely, as well as the tiny fishing village that can been seen below. It's a very picturesque area to overlook ...
