We were informed by friends being here before to not just walk along the dam, but also get to the observatory deck which we did. The extra view afforded by the higher place is worth it, especially since when we were there, snow still aplenty....More

The highest dam in Japan 186m was a historically difficult construction project . Started in 1959April n was ready in 1963 . Climbed 220 steps up to the observatory deck to view the whole dam.

I stay in Toyoma. Please advise me way to purchase the tiket for Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route round trip from Toyoma to Kurobe Dam. When is the earliest date if allowed to purchase online? How much the ticket? Any special rate for Malaysian Senior citizen aged 63 and 69? What time the ticket counter open if we are only allowed to purchase at ticket counter on the same day?
