In 1990, the rose was chosen as the Town Flower of Ina. Now, 50 years after Ina's founding, the Roses Bloom Magnificently in this park. May 17th was Full Bloom and what a great spectacle. For only 350 yen (young children FREE) this is a beautiful park, divided into 3 separate Rose Gardens. Lots of benches to sit, wide avenues for a wheelchair, a water fountain, a bell to ring, Rose Towers and Arches for photos, and a slick pamphlet filled with the names in Japanese & English. The roses are further labeled with their "House of Production" which I wished I had written in the pamphlet- lots of German growers. Lovely Fragrance!!!! Best Season: the middle of May to the first week of June; then again in the fall, late October to the beginning of November. This was a Monday and not so crowded. Wait 2 or 3 days after a heavy rain because some roses will turn brown on the edges. Some local products like Rose Petal Jam were for sale. No Matsui 2021, so no food for sale. FREE Parking.
