The Nasu Highlands Tourist Bus runs twice a day (after 9am and before 4pm) from accommodations in the Nasu Highlands bus stop area between Ikkenchaya and Nasu Yumoto, and takes about 20 minutes.

In addition, the route bus from JR Kuroiso Station to Itamuro Onsen has been extended to Nasu Highland Park, so you can access the park without a car.

The park has many amusement park attractions that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, so one full day is not enough to experience them all.

I visited on a sunny Saturday in June, and the waiting time for the attractions was about 5 to 20 minutes, and even for popular attractions such as water slides and roller coasters, there were no lines that required an hour's wait.

There is also a corner where you can try out kayaking (for one or two people), although the area is not large. Even beginners can easily row a boat as the staff will carefully explain how to row.
With this, a one-day unlimited ride pass costs 6,100 yen for adults and 4,400 yen for elementary school students and younger and those aged 65 and over, so isn't this pretty good value for money?

It was very crowded during the long weekend, and there was a 60-90 minute wait for coasters. However, once you lined up, you didn't have to wait that long to ride.
I wish I had bought tickets in advance. I was underestimating that it wouldn't be that crowded, even during the long weekend.

Unlike theme parks like Disney, it felt like an old-fashioned amusement park! It gave me a nostalgic feeling.

There were a lot of customers with dogs, which might be a bit of a pain for people who don't like dogs.

This place is like Disney on steroids with shorter queues. Buy a full pass at the ticket booth and take your kids on everything. All rides are fun. The food sold here is not bad too.

Be prepared to spend at least a full day here. They have english language maps at the park if you ask for it (I could not find one online).

The only thing is that you need a car with a GPS to get here. It's pretty high up the mountain.

This park unlike ordinary zoo, you can drive or ride bus to see wild animal. Besides, you can feed deer, giraffe, zebra inside your own car or bus. The animals are very friendly. For the wild animal like lion and tiger, we can only see and not feed them.

It’s at least a couple of hours out from Tokyo, but it provides excellent value for money. My first impression was that it’s a bit old and run down but you can see where they are renovating and improving the rides and facilities. It’s half the price of Disneyland, has only small queues to the rides and kids can have ball without waiting in line for long.
It’s roller coaster heaven with 5 or 6 different rides. Food options there are nothing great but “passable”. It probably lacks the class of Disney but it’s a lot better value. I imagine it might be a bit difficult to get to (we went on a charter bus) but the Park is well worth a visit.

It's good if you have kids and can't be bothered with the trip to Disneyland. The rides are ok, the lines are not that long, the food court is awful. The shops sell a nice selection of Studio Ghibli items. There is also a foot onsen where you can sit and soak your feet in hot water.
