内部には周辺の遺跡で発掘したものが展示されていますが、結構多いので驚きました。
河川のジオラマも立派なもので、無料でここまで立派なら嬉しいですね。

二風谷ダムのダム湖のほとり

　二風谷ダムのダム湖になっている沙流川のほとりに、沙流川歴史館はあります。私たちは、二風谷アイヌ文化博物館から向かいましたが、この歴史館の入り口は、地下に続く通路の先にありました。
　建物自体が半地下になっていて、屋上部分は展望台になっています。そこからは、二風谷ダムのダム湖が一望できました。

半地下の施設の屋上から沙流川を眺める

　平取町の二風谷にあるアイヌ博物館を見学した後、沙流川の方に向かうと、川のふち近くに、沙流川歴史観がありました。
　入り口は、地面から地下に入っていくようなスロープになっていて、建物全体が半地下構造なんです。館内には、沙流川流域から出土した歴史に関する品々が展示されていたり、沙流川の自然や動植物なども展示されていました。屋上部分が展望台のようになっていて、そこからは沙流川や対岸の山々などが見渡せました。

意外と楽しめる

アイヌ資料館の隣にあり、アイヌ資料館は真面目で地味な感じでとっつきにくさを感じましたが、こちらは結構、馴染みやすい感じがありました。開拓期のことがとても楽しみながら分かりやすかったです。意外と居心地がよかったです。

二風谷アイヌ文化博物館に隣接する資料館で、主に平取町および周辺地域出土の歴史的遺物の展示、動植物や地形といった自然史の資料やジオラマの展示となっており、こちらもとてもきれいで、わかりやすい資料館です。

アイヌ博物館の隣にありましたので、せっかくなので覗いてみました。
管理しているのは国（国交省）
何のためにココに作られたのでしょうか？
日本の箱もの行政を象徴する建物です。
建物はかなりの金額を投じて建てられたような立派なものです。

建物のデザインはよいけど

二風谷アイヌ博物館に隣接する、川の博物館（無料）。地中に埋まったような建物のデザインはよいけど、展示を見ていたら、事務室の職員が「何か用でしょうか？」って。ちょっと不思議な対応。

縄文人がいたという事実

アイヌ文化博物館裏手にある入場無料の施設です。夏でも涼しい北海道に、現代とは違って暖房すらもろくに整っていない縄文時代に、人が生活していたという事実になんといっても驚かされます。
