Another unexpected scenery spot for shibasakura (Moss phlox) in East Hokkaido
May 2017 • Friends
This park is famous for cosmos. Admission fees are JPN 300 per person only when cosmos are in bloom. We learnt that the Park is becoming popular for shibasakura (moss phlox) these recent years. We decided to visit the Park since we stayed in Engaru for 2 days 1 night. However, the Park is not accessible by bus which makes the Park not so crowded with people. We searched on google map and said it took 10 min walk from JR Engaru Station. I don't think we can really walk there on foot because you need to climp up steep roads and flyovers. Fortunately, we asked the local people and advised us to take taxi there. We took a taxi near Engaru bus terminal to the Park and took 5-7 min drive. It costed less than JPN 1,000 for a single trip. We visited the Park when the moss phlox was in full blossom. Not only you could see moss phlox, beautiful tulips were another bonus you could shoot for.

So beautiful Shibasakura and Tulip
May 2016 • Couples
Visited here last week when getting back to Asahikawa as it was on the way.
My decision was right. When we visit here was the right time Shibasakura and Tulip was in full bloom. Luckily not many people only a few party.
The area of Shibasakura is not very wide in comparing to Higashimokoto and
Takinoue. I visited both park, but in my opinion Taiyono-oka-Engaru-park is
best spot for Shibasakura. Maybe cos. not packed withe people.....
You can also see tulip here.
This park is also very famous for cosmos in September. Hear that many people visit when cosmos bloom. I will be visiting in September as well if I have chance.
