The carpet of flowers in an area stretching kilometers long galvanizes in color and variety, black lilies in early summer, baptisias, Artic irises, lemon lilies, rugosa roses later in the summer. If you are in this area in Hokkaido, I recommend a visit.

Nice oceanview and dunes. Only a few flowers left at the beginning of october. Don't buy in that touristy shop inside. The ladys sold beer (Abashiri Blue) which was over 1 1/2 years old. Disgusting!

It is a beautiful hilly areas, which extends along the coast. In summer many flowers are in full bloom, and JR station Gensei Kaen is in operation for a limited period. Here you can feel intact nature. You can take either a train or a...More

I was there in early summer thus not much flowers to see. I think this is the type of place to stop by while enroute to Shari or Shiretoko or heading back to Sapporo. Definitely not worth making a trip here.
