We took this 11kilometre dirt road down to the falls which took us around 30 minutes, as we took it slowly with the rocky surface and potholes. The road is only open to cars after mid September I think, as the car park is very...More

There is no way to get to Kamuiwakka, except by car, bike, or as some brave fellows bicycle or walking. It's a dusty drive over dirt/gravel roads. If you are lucky enough you will see deer by the roadside. If you are not so lucky,...More

It took about half an hour to drive there from Shiretoko. The last 10 k is on rocky road and you have to drive slowly. But it is fun walking up the hot spring waterfall.

It is 11 km from the five lakes. But it could take you more than double the time you used to drive as the road is rather rough with full of stones. Not recommended if it is rainy or snowy unless you have 4WD. The...More

This waterfall has a reputation as a place to enjoy soaking in the outdoor hot springs, but the soaking has been strongly curtailed by ropes blocking off the waterfalll area. You can climb up a bit on the left side of the falls, but from...More

Its not far from the 5-lakes/Furepe falls. So might as well swing by. Although its only 11km, its a 'slow' drive as it off-road, although its quite smooth; as it well used and frequented. Many cars going-up and down, and parked at the falls, so...More
