We ski backcountry and sidecountry and are very happy with what Tomamu serves up. We only went here on day trips and I’m not sure I’d want to stay here as there is only the resort hotels and nothing else at all.

Its hard to find the perfect place with "ski in ski out" locations as well as having other facilities nearby to enjoy your stay. Tomamu is one of them. We stayed in the tower rooms, quite large for japanese standards, beds were OK (king singles)....More

This resort is not large but it’s not small either. We bought the four hour ticket and had great fun skiing in powder in the off piste tree areas. Register with the resort to do this though. Friendly staff and their our lounges to chillax...More

Yes there is a bus that runs from Hoshino Tomamu to Furano. Check with the hotel for more details

Mid Dec the resort opens, typically snow. Check out powderhounds website for other options - it gives a bit of explanation about weather patterns
