I had visited this museum in the past and because I was interested in ethnobotany it was interesting but a little old. This is not the case today. The ambience inside the museum is amazing, not to mention the replete information about oceanic culture in different parts of the world. Don't forget to visit the planetarium as well. There's a Doraemon show there every weekend and during winter holidays.

Saw some AMAZING boats (real life size) and learned a lot about oceanic cultures. It doesn't focus on Okinawa specifically but the admission was very cheap and the boats were super dope. Nice break from the heat of walking around.

We just happened to stop by here on the way in to the aquarium and found some interesting exhibits. This is definitely for those who like seafaring history.

Museums are always great places to visit when the weather outdoors, doesn't feel comfortable. This one is no exception. Even on a nice day, you can get lost and wander through history, gaining an appreciation for the Pacific Islander's way of life.
