Good powder, a range of runs that will test all levels and a laid back vibe. Hakuba is easily accessible from Tokyo (by train and bus from Nagano).

It seems the Hakuba area is made up of a number of different small ski resorts none of which are interconnected. The snow quality is great but the terrain is not like the larger ski resorts in Europe or the US

The gondola from Escal Plaza took us right to the top where we spent the day skiing/snow boarding on some fairly easy runs. 360 degree views of incredible mountains and you could see right down to the valley below.

In the immediate area Hakuba Goyru there is a temple and trail to walk. Ease of this will be determined by how much snow remains. Hakuba Happo is main area a short shuttle bus away. There are a number of Onsen's to visit... More

47 and Goryu are effectively the same resort, you can't ski from either to Happo One - q10 minute free shuttle. The best place to base yourself is definately Happo. Easy to get to all resorts rom there and HappoOne is... More
