It is a friendly slope for beginners. Escal plaza has a good selection of equipment and the food is hearty. Don’t miss the 2 hillside restaurants on the beginner slopes. It connects to Immori slopes hence giving it much variety. For the more intermediate skiers...More
We skied at Goryu twice in the last week of February/start March. Bluebird skiing at its finest (as long as you don’t mind the afternoon mush)
I have rated a 4 as the infrastructure across the whole of the Valley is dated and slow, although,...More
Man this mountain has some seriously fun runs and a snow park that tests all levels of snowboarding 🏂 and skiing ⛷ I had a bluebird day with gusts of wind 💨 so much that they had to close the top lifts! But that was...More
Really enjoyed this mountain with the family. Had much wider runs which allows you to ski together in a group. When you combine with hakuba 47 you have plenty to explore. Prefer over happo one. The skiing better for alrounders. Lift tickets also reasonably priced....More
Goryu was a great place to learn to snowboard as their was lots of wide begginer slopes plus a decent amount of intermediate runs too. Try and get the coupon which gives you a $1000 yen voucher for lunch and full day lift ticket for...More
Ski slopes are average, however worse then average when they are jam packed with people. Not many runs to go on unfortunately, best for beginners. The lift staff were super nice and courteous! Always a plus!
With great slopes that cater for all abilities and a good restaurant and facilities on the entrance this is a great spot. Probably more targeted at families but good for anyone. Shuttle busses do pick up and drop off to certain locations on route.

In the immediate area Hakuba Goyru there is a temple and trail to walk. Ease of this will be determined by how much snow remains. Hakuba Happo is main area a short shuttle bus away. There are a number of Onsen's to visit (traditional Japanese bathing). Further afield there is an easy day trip to Snow Monkey's at Jigokudani. Proximity to local rail line opens up other options such as Matsumoto which has reputedly the best Castle on the main island. Again temples and gardens will feature strongly in Matsumoto. At Goyru, non skiers can catch cable car to top of mountain for views, food and drink.
