We skied Happoone after a week skiing at Akakura Kanko in Myoko. I am addicted to snow holidays in Japan and have been on several before. Happoone is one of my favourites. I much prefer this over Niseko. The runs here are amazing, it’s not crowded and everyone is super friendly. Hakuba has a great vibe to it, probably a... More

I have traveled a lot around the world as I am a flight attendant, however I have never skied before. Happone ski resort was great I really enjoyed it. There is lots of powdery snow, so falling down wasn’t an issue. The panoramic view is simply breath taking. It is paradise. Hakuba is great because there is a thriving Japanese... More

A paradise for beginner, intermediate & expert. There are fine nursery slopes for beginners also. This is one of Japan's largest and most famous ski resort blessed with breathtaking panoramic view. I will definitely going back for this coming winter again.

Hakuba is deserted in summer, not many tourist, no ski bums, no noisy Aussies ;-) . This results in many shops, restaurants and hotels being closed, which might be a bummer. However it shouldn't turn off anyone. This place is beautiful in summer. I took bike rides along the river, between rice fields, there are numerous mountain hikes from one... More

This resort and the surrounding have good skiing for our intermediate and beginner levels and beautiful scenery. The service is typical Japanese hospitality - logical, efficient, and enjoyable.

Hakuba is a guaranteed good time on the slopes. It caters for everyone with mixed abilities and has a good network of slopes that are pretty interchangeable (certainly for the 2016-17 anyway when a Valley Card will be on offer - Awesome!) The town is small but there is enough to keep you occupied in the evening and plenty of... More

My girlfriend and I skied Happoone in February 2016. We loved it so much, we will be back next year. To get to Happoone you just hop on the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo. The village has a high concentration of shops, hotels, bars and restaurants. We stayed at the Hotel Villa and loved it. We have skied Niseko before... More

My partner and I have previously had a ski holiday in Niseko Japan but wouldn’t rate it compared to Happo One Hakuba. There are so many advantages to skiing Happo One. Firstly we found getting to Hakuba so much easier than getting to Niseko. You just get on the Shinkansen bullet train. Secondly the cultural experience you get in Hakuba... More

I have to admit to being a little biased about this place, Hakuba, Wadona and Happo One. Five great ski resorts with good transport and pretty good infrastructure, food excellent almost always guaranteed metres of snow but as you are aware weather paterns around the world are changing. For example last year they had the best snow in eight years... More
