Happoone ski resort is best in the Hakuba area. We stayed at Echoland, very good area with many restaurants and bars and short shuttle to the ski lifts. The Japanese ski resorts are way after European resorts. You either go there for experiencing something different or for the powder which is unique. Combine the trip with 2-3 days stay in... More

As mentioned by others, the snow at the moment is icy - just like Australia. But the base is very thick, the slopes are wide and the view is wonderful. We had one rainy day and then some snow and clear skies over 6 days. They do not seem to groom all the slopes. Some are very choppy/lumpy which appears... More

We came from Australia, that often experiences wet or hard packed snow, dreaming of powder. No such luck! We had rain twice in a week, The other days we had either very wet snow, or hard packed after the temperature dropped. Just like at home! There are very few people here after last year's disastrous season, which may be the... More

A fairly small ski area which can be covered in one day. The lifts are the oldest I have used. Old metal uncovered slow lifts some with wood seats. Only one old fashion gondola in the resort. Busy slopes.

We spent a week here skiing. The people are all very nice and a great variety of snow fields and even better restaurants. A must see for anyone once who loves the snow life.

Really impressed with the efficiency (well, this is Japan!), of the resort and its facilities. It's only a small resort, however, the mountain was well-maintained, trail maps available, majority of lifts operating when we were there. Snowboard rental gear affordable, lift tickets affordable.

We spent a week here and had a great time. The sking is good for all levels and the facilties and restaurants etc are great. The village atmosphere is also great although there were far too many Australians for my liking. Lots of restaurants and Bars to choose from, especially in the near by Echoland area. Shuttle buses are great... More

Had amazing ski trip! can not wait to go back and ski! The runs are well labelled and groomed. As a beginner, I was nervous but the runs are well laid so you have nothing to worry about. Great resort.

This is our second visit to Happone, it's a great ski area offering slopes and terrain for all levels. Very uncrowded midweek, plenty of places to get lunch and coffee, great lift staff.
