    Wonderful friendly service
My twenty four year old twin sons and I were very impressed with the extra good service Rhythm provided. Holy the young woman from Newcastle and Nicky from Brisbane who helped me were so accommodating. As an older skier my feet make finding a good fit challenging …Holy found the perfect boots! I know how Cinderella felt! Nicky also found the perfect skies for me..so good I keep up with my sons! I skied for 5 days in Hakuba powder and sunshine without any worries!

Great lesson with instructor David, who really helped me progress with my skiing. Thanks also to Steve the manager for being flexible and fitting me in at a busy time. Great instructors and school & highly recommended

Winter Delight at Evergreen Ski School
We've been attending snowboarding lessons at this ski school for the second year, and my son absolutely loves it. The instructors are energetic and encourage him to learn new tricks. Despite our limited skills, the coach takes him on advanced slopes and even forest trails, making the experience enjoyable for my child. This year, my son moved from the blue group to the red group in just three days, and he's thrilled about it. The only downside is that this winter was warmer, causing two days of our five-day course to be canceled due to insufficient snow. Next year, we'll schedule the lessons later, around January, hoping for better snow conditions. Winter break at Evergreen Ski School has become our child's most anticipated activity.

    100% would recommend
Both my kids absolutely loved going to ski school. My 3 year old was in the Yeti group for 3 days and my 7 year old did the group snowboarding lessons. The instructors were really great with the children and after each lesson discussed with the parents how their child is progressing.

    Private group lessons- highly recommend
Highly recommend private lessons. We had Logan for 2 days for my first time skiing and he was really supportive. Private lessons meant he could cater to each of our needs and we could progress at our own pace. Logan was amazing, nothing we asked was too much.

    Professional and friendly lessons
We had an all day premium lesson with Sam at the outset of our time at Iwatake - he is a very good teacher. It was a great way to find our skills legs again and be introduced to the runs. We followed up a few days later with a two hour afternoon lesson with Mattias, booked at short notice. It was also a good learning experience.

    Awesome
My 7-year-old spent two days at the ski school. The best way to judge success at that age is to ask him what he thought and he described it as 'awesome fun'. That's good enough for us I think. Thanks to both the instructors who were Amber on Day 1 and Kristopher on Day 2. They were both very patient and engaging. Great ski school and we will be back.....

    Worth the experience!
It was such an amazing experience! It had previously snowed so much so we got lucky with the weather... best time to snowboard. We took a full day of class and managed to learn the basics of snowboarding. Our instructor was really good with teaching us, despite being a bigger class.

    Excellent teacher
We were wonderfully taught by Jenna in a small group private beginner class and it was a wonderful introduction to skiing. We were shortly skiing confidently and able to enjoy our remaining time on the beginner slopes alone. I can’t recommend enough.

Great location, friendly and enthusiastic instructors and we found the staff really helpful and accommodating. Ski lessons were appropriate for the level you were placed in and did push you a little outside your comfort zone to improve which was welcomed. Yeti Club was fantastic for our 3.5 year old, and the instructor (European lad) was awesome (so patient). Thank you.

I enrolled for a lesson and got nowhere. The instructor had us on a steep slope within the first half hour. By the end of it I was no closer to learning to ski than before I started and the instructor basically gave up on me within 20 mins because I didn’t “get it” straight away. I decided to enrol in another lesson the next day and had a completely different experience. This guy knew his stuff and knew how to teach. I ended up extending my half day lesson with him to a whole day. I would have loved to have done more lessons but they are expensive and I didn’t want to roll the dice on the instructor again... would I get a super experienced older man who cares about teaching or a 19 year old girl who is just there to fund her own ski trip?

Very disappointed in the way they handled our lesson, and their attitude to customer relations. We were a party of 5 having a private lesson. 30 minutes in, after one run down a short green run one of us developed a severe unrelenting cramp and was not able to continue. The instructor was helpful but the lesson was interrupted for an hour, and there was no support organized so the lesson could continue. In the end there was only time for one more run. We expected some recognition of this in the form of additional time or a discount, but Evergreen management took the position that the lesson had been delivered in full and it was our problem one of us had an issue. When pressed they offered a 15% discount on a new booking.

Evergreen’s instructors may be good (not easy for us to judge!) but this operation appears to be run as a booking agency that delegates management responsibility to individual instructors, and has no concept of supporting paying customers.

I had registered our 2 children (aged 7 & 3) for three days of beginner classes. Not only was it expensive but service (admin staff) and ski instruction very poor. Registration on the first day was, mildly put, chaotic, with staff providing little or no explanation or guidance. We had to ask for everything. Ski instructors changed every day with tremendous difference in approach and quality and many of them too young and inexperienced to manage small children. Half day lessons start at 10.00am and finish at 1.00pm including a 1 hour lunch break. Considering it took 30 min to get to the slopes with the gondola ski lessons only lasted 1,5 hours....
Very expensive and unprofessional staff and instructors and will definitely avoid next time, if, we visit Hakuba again.

Despite generally good snow across the mountain, the main (and only wide) slope for beginners was closed for the duration of our stay last week. Nonetheless, I had a very positive experience with Evergreen, attending four full days of classes. As a 58 year old novice, I joined the first timer class, moving on to Level 1, and then Level 2 for the final two days.

Brian who took me for the first two days is an excellent educator, with a well defined methodology, clear communication, great patience, and genuine care for each member of his class. He stripped everything back to basics, ensuring that each element stuck with the class before moving on. On the second day, despite the size of the class, he developed tailored ‘projects’ for his students, so each of us could focus on our personal next steps.

James W and Caden took my two Level 2 classes. They were both highly professional, dealing well with the lack of suitable terrain for the class. I was impressed in particular by the way James kept track of every class member’s progress, offering appropriate tips and encouragement for each individual.

My daughter also took a class (Level 4) with Toby and had a blast.

After completing my four days of training, I was able to ski with my daughter for our last day and a half at Happoone, including several runs on red slopes. All in all, I’m delighted with the way Evergreen has got me up and running.

Convenient, friendly international ski school. The kids had a good time, even the 3yo who was a bit young to ski. Good day for the kids to help give the parents some free time to ski whilst helping the kids to up-skill. Instructors are all generally good with the kids.

The check in process is chaotic. Despite submitting all the details online beforehand and receiving a QR code, you then have to fill in all the details again by hand at check in while parents are battling to get to the front of the queue. Kids and parents everywhere and it is just frustrating and messy. If you haven’t bought lift tickets in advance, you then have to run down the hill to the lift pass counter to buy them and run back again. We felt our eldest could have progressed to the next level but felt they hold people back rather than level them up, to keep them coming back for more lessons.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like parents need this feedback to make an informed decision...

Our kids (aged 5 and 3) are both very capable skiers. Despite me telling the staff when booking them in of their level of ability, they were both put in a group on the magic carpet, despite our 5yo being able to do parallel turns and ski black runs, and our 3yo competently skiing green and blue. I promise I’m not one of those mums that’s like “My kids are the best skiers!! But we have spent the last 2 Aus winters at Hotham so they have skied a lot. Our 5 year old was completely bored and very confused at being back on the magic carpet!

I was willing to put that down to a miscommunication, but things did not get better.

2 out of 3 days they attended there was no instructor was available at pickup time to give us any feedback. The second day, the instructor said our 5yo should be put up to red (highest) level, however he was not put up the next day. Im not sure but I feel like this was because there was no other kids in that level and they didn’t want to pay an extra instructor for one kid, but for the amount you pay for ski school I think they should!

I’ll grant things were difficult with the lack of snow and some lifts not running, but they were just not managing the situation at all well. 3 out of 3 days our kids didn’t come back until 30-45 minutes after pick up time, and very little communication about this was provided.

All the above I could probably overlook if the kids had a great time, that’s what it’s really all about after all. But, despite usually loving skiing, they came back from each lesson saying it was boring, they didn’t learn anything and they didn’t enjoy it at all.... That broke my heart :(

Had both kids and my wife doing lessons with Evergreen in Happo last week and they all loved it - check in process was pretty straight forward each morning, lessons started on time and the kids were well looked after. Both of my kids progressed loads through the week and adding in 2 additional days of lessons was sorted pretty quickly.

The only negative was with my eldest (10) in her lesson group - some parents had clearly over-estimated their kids skiing ability meaning my daughter had to go at a slower pace. Hopefully later in the season when they have more instructors this would be rectified pretty quickly.

Will definitely use again if we go back to Happo.

These guys were great- my kids converted to snow boarding from skiiing and did 3 full days- as teens and tweens they can sometimes be hard to please. I have used many ski schools over the years in Europe and N America and this ski school is great. The kids loved the instructors, had lots of fun, met new people and I was really impressed with their skills when we rode as a family after the 3 days- top notch. More importantly it wasn't a babysitting service.

Had an awesome ski instructor (Alvaro) who was super patient and taught the group a lot. It was a shame however that there is confusion around the different levels which can feel like a bit of a time waster.

The customer service is also pretty poor which is disappointing, especially when physically in Japan without a SIM and they do not respond to emails.

Overall, the lessons were great and I’d recommend this ski school to a friend

Our instructor Jack Boesten from Australia was excellent!!!! He helped us with picking out rental ski gear and accessing the ski slopes. We were all complete beginners so we had no idea what to do . Jack was patient and managed to lead a full class of 6 beginners all by himself. I had a blast and can't wait do another lesson with Evergreen again!

I wasn't a huge fan of the ladies at the check in counter. They were very stoic and not the most welcoming. Hardly gave us any information.
