The grounds here are lovely, in a perfect park setting, completely wonderful for children to play and explore with their families. Chihiro loved children, as evident in her art and exemplified in how they dedicate so much space in her museum to their amusement - from the library and little train school room to the sound garden and the real train they can climb on, plus the great park outside. The art exhibits are lovely but I found myself anguishing over not being able to read the story of her life in her biographical exhibit as I don't speak or read Japanese. More English translations or a an english audio tour would be very helpful and enhance the enjoyment of English speaking visitors. The gift shop is lovely, was difficult to chose the perfect souvenir of our visit from so many beautiful choices.

I loved this museum and I came to Azumino for this museum. It was beautiful, from the outside to the inside. I really enjoyed how it is located at the countryside and the intention of setting up this museum. However I wish they had made the exhibits more accessible for the international visitors – there was only an english brochure and everything else inside was in japanese. I really appreciated going to this museum but having additional english explanations could make the experience very much more pleasant. Hope that they can consider this in future!
