This is a facility owned by Nippon Paper Group, well managed, also lots of activities in summer. If it is not too windy, the gondola can take you right to the top, it is long run from the top down to the bottom. There are quite many varieties including a park for snowboarder. Staffs are quite friendly, many restaurants and places to enjoy different types of dishes or just have a cup of drink of water. The center station (club house) was renewed 3 years ago, quite new and easy to use. You don’t want to miss the hot spring with a sauna after several hours on the slopes.

It was a scorching Sunday, mercury rising up to 35 degree C. 1.5hour drive from Takasaki and 2000 yen rope way fare took us to an ideal hiking area with 22 degree at the height of 2000 meter. Soaking your feet in warm springwater was free of charge.

I came to the ski resort at the end of the season (3 May with closure on 6 May). I am not an experienced skier but enjoyed the 4km long run from the top of the gondola. Ski hire is about JPY3,500 a day. A single pass on the gondola is JPY1,400 but I am sure you can get day passes at a better price. The snow quality on the run was good. It wasn't fantastic but it was better than late season snow coverage that I have experienced at home in Australia.
