This shrine is located just below Golden Hall. Hakusan means 'the white mountains", a range of peaks spans in Ichikawa and Gifu prefectures. Besides main building the another interesting part of shrine is 160-year-old outdoor Noh stage (Nohgakudo) . Famous german architect, theorist of "New objectivity", Bruno Taut said the stage “left the greatest impression [on him] among all the sights at Chuson-ji, for its simple yet refined structure.” On the side there is a mini-shrine called "Twelve Shoji Shinto Shrine" with coin boxes associated with the twelve zodiac signs.
