What a great experience 🤩!!! Thanks to Takeshi, his wife and their daughter, they made our sledge dog experience unforgettable.
He took the time to explain his kennel and we spend quality time with the dogs and new born puppies🐶.
Riding your own sledge is once in a lifetime adventure, that I will recommend it anyone.
Takeshi is taking pictures and video with his camera and give them to you on your mobile or sd card.

We hope to have the chance to go back and ride with the new dogs generation.😉

We drove all the way from sapporo to experience the dog sledding.
And it was worth to do.
We had a great time during the trip with the dogs.
The owner is very accommodating and speaks perfect English.

Very wonderful and memorable experience

We had a very memorable, exciting and fun dog sledding experience with Mushing Works! Highly recommended!

Takeshi-san is very helpful (from gears to giving clear instructions and keeping us comfortable despite the very cold weather). We were bundled up nicely as he provided outer gears for comfort. He also speaks good English (so non Japanese speakers would feel at ease)

The dogs in the kennel were so cute and friendly. They love pets and they’re not afraid of human interaction.

Dog sledding itself was exhilarating! The dogs were powerful as they could pull you in great speed! One hour of pure adrenaline rush!

We were then provided hot beverages and snacks. Takeshi-San even arranged taxi services to and from the kennel so we could arrive on time for our train.

Overall, everything was just excellent!!!!

Great fun
Feb 2019 • Couples
We had a great afternoon at mushing works. You get to drive the sled yourself (though the dogs know where they are going) and the owner drives around on a snow mobile to wait for you at certain spots. The whole experience made for a very fun afternoon.

The dogs are incredibly friendly and love to be fused which is surprising for working dogs.

The route is out around the fields behind the kennels area and you probably cover 10km or so in total which is enough. They'll stop you every 15 minutes or so to give the dogs a rest, take some photos, and rearrange the dogs if needed.

We were lucky that a couple of amateur photographers were out with the owner dooing a shoot so we got some great photos of our time

These guys are amazing! Very friendly and caring. They instructed us well and provided extra warm clothing and gloves to wear on top of our own warm clothing.

We stepped outside of our comfort zone but this was a fantastic experience. The dogs are amazing and so keen!

Takeshi took great photos/video to seal our memories. A wonderful experience.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE
Jan 2019 • Couples
This was the highlight of our Sapporo trip, Takeshi san and Connie was very friendly and accommodating to us!

Dogs were Super Friendly and excited to bring us on our sledging journey (obvious that they are well taken care off) The speed of the sledge was just nice for taking videos/photos with one hand too!

The weather was good and clear when we did our sledging in Jan 19, surrounding views were amazing and the track was simple yet exciting!

Warm clothing was also provided from head to toe so you do not have to worry about the cold, they were also very clean as well.

Would be best to stay in Shikaoi if you do not drive as transportation is poor in the non city area of Hokkaido and the cab fare from shintoku to Shikoai will set you back around 5000yen. We stayed at the Yorkshire farm (amazing place) and Takeshi picked us up half way (thankfully as we only paid 4000yen instead of around 8000yen for the full trip to mushing)

All in all, mushing dog sledging experience is a must go if you are into dogs or looking for an activity to do in Hokkaido!

Mushing is the highlight on my holiday
Feb 2018 • Couples
The venue is about 2.5hours from Sapporo and a mere 30mins from Shikaoi town. I'd advise staying in Shikaoi so that you don't have a long drive to the venue. Once there the fun begins. You are greeted by over 20 dogs all eager to go for their run. Takeshi san and his team are very accommodating and even rode ahead of us to take photos and videos which he happily transfers the images to your device or SD card. The appropriate gear and boots are on loan to you at no charge. The ride was a totally fun and memorable experience. This is one ride you should try out if you have not done so yet. As for me and my partner, we'd definitely want to do it again!

Best winter activity with the sweetest dogs and their dedicated humans from Mushing Works!
Feb 2018 • Couples
Love the happy, enthusiastic, well-groomed and powerful dogs that took us on a scenic >10km sled ride up and down hill meandering through the breathtaking winterscape that Takeshi-san chose as the backdrop!
If you wear spectacles, no problem, he and Connie are equipped to dress you for the weather. Everything went so smoothly from pre-trip booking to sledding day. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!
Jan 2018 • Family
We travelled to Mushing Works as a family of 4 and were not disappointed!!! What a fabulous experience. From meeting the 28 dogs, to the actually sledding and the warming hospitality after the sled the afternoon was perfect. Takeshi and his assistant Connie did an amazing job and the bonus was the great photos taken by Japanese "Johnny DEPP". Great memories...thank you !!!
